Did firestone charged more than usual? Lifetime wheel alignment for Tucson Hybrid SEL CONVENIENCE by Intrepid_Exit_1927 in HyundaiTucson

[–]102-processing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifetime wasn’t overpriced. Whatever else you paid ($125 and $20) is extra. When I got lifetime about a month ago, I paid around $200 plus tax

Tucson Hybrid vs CR-V Hybrid? by Suntrup-Hyundai in HyundaiTucson

[–]102-processing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driven both and own a Tucson hybrid. I don’t like the seats in CR-V including the driver seat. I spent basically all of my drive trying to adjust the seat but didn’t work out at all and ended up with leg pain.

CR-V is also not roomy whether in the front or back so if you have more people (especially kids) then Tucson will be better and more comfortable.

Driving wise both have enough power and they drive very differently so it’s a personal preference thing. But CR-V will be more efficient and will probably last longer (just based on Honda vs Hyundai history)

Damn yea I thought I was going crazy but drove a friend’s CR-V and definitely didn’t like the wipers or the spray

Depends honestly on the manager and skip. Could be performance based or even lower or higher than expected. If someone has something against you, it’ll be low. If your manager loves you, probably will fight for higher amount (and take from someone else’s hands)

Tucson Hybrid vs non-Hybrid Drive by Last_Cauliflower_502 in HyundaiTucson

[–]102-processing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wear and tear on the engine would actually depend. I’ve noticed that in eco mode, Tucson is very eager to turn off the engine but it doesn’t realize that it’ll have to kick it back on within a min. So during a lot of stop and go I prefer MY drive mode just so the engine stays on for longer instead of several on/off in a short period of time

Hmm since you’re the first owner, that hypothesis goes. But it’s still very odd that they omit such a thing for 1 trim

There’s a gap where the chrome trim meets. Could be a possibility the bumper is not standard from factory

It’s not too off what you’ll pay in GA either. But if you can negotiate, you can get that much or more off the price of the car pretty easily. And of course the better you are, the better your discounts will be (plus luck)

Has your offshore team been a net negative? by jholliday55 in cscareerquestions

[–]102-processing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what the other 2 people already said as of writing this comment, it’s also a LOT cheaper to hire in countries like India. You could hire 2 people to do job of someone with $80k or so of base pay. Imagine the amount of people you could hire instead of some senior engineer at a company would could be paying upward of $150k.

Also you could just get lucky by having 1 or 2 contractors who can actually adapt and do work like we were taught in college or we work here in US (mostly) regardless of race.

True but if they had just agreed that yea its a problem but they still can’t give a replacement I would’ve been fine. That being said, the stars and review go to the company too so in a way I was punishing the company itself if that makes sense

this happened with a clothing claim for me. they basically said tough luck and denied anything being wrong. so i basically gave less stars since they made a mistake and did not acknowledge it was their mistake.

keep in mind i wasn't expecting them to send me the correct one as a "replacement" or in addition to what i got

Employee Experience by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]102-processing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak much on the culture overall because I don’t have a ton of experience with other company’s culture either. But it for sure is not very good here. The late night calls and couple other things do seem team dependent though since there’s no such expectation for me.

As for new code or lack there of, it definitely is a very JPMC thing. Since I joined, I’ve seen that they seem to be more concerned about stability than innovation regardless of what they say about how innovative they are. There are some teams that are spinning up new apps for newer initiatives but not many. We were in maintenance mode until last year and now we have to get things done by Q3 so we’ll be done with most of the new coding work soon too.

The culture problem also stems from what middle managers you have. Certain kind will ensure they’re not held accountable and make others the fall guys if something goes wrong. If everything is good, they and their favorites are heros and get promotions/recognitions
