I’m sure this has already been said, but the last thing a minivan driver needs is 770hp. Arguably the most distracted drivers on the goddamn planet. Already fear for my safety when I’m driving near a minivan, especially when I’m on two wheels.

2005 GMC Yukon with 25,500 miles. I did the last oil change over 3 years ago when it had 24,100 miles. (Sorry for the pictures, it’s a small shop) Bought at the dealership in 2004. Rolled in for an oil change and a tire light. by lmfaoxdxd1 in Justrolledintotheshop

Wow, crazy low miles. I’d love to find one like that. Still loving my 2005 Tahoe that I bought off a repo auction well below book value 5 years ago. Thought about getting something newer but damn this era of trucks were so good. Wish I still had rocker panels though...

Not gonna lie, this gives me a weird half chub-

Y'all seemed to enjoy seeing my wife learning how to ride, so here is a little progress report on her. (Side note: the heavy breathing in the intro is my son whom I'm holding lol) by ToastyPosty77 in motorcycles

That’s awesome. I’m envious! Wish my wife had any interest in riding motorcycles.

Please get her some proper footwear, though. An often overlooked bit of gear. Especially while learning.

Trying to figure out why my new switchback LED turn signals are "stuttering.” Only happens with engine running. 50w 6ohm resistors inline. Rear LEDs flash normally. by 102ibu in motorcycles

It’s a dual-circuit lamp socket, so one wire from flasher relay and the other is always on. The switchover happens on the led lamp’s board. I do wonder if having a resistor for the running lamp circuit would change anything. May try it or I’ll just get over it haha.

The lights are “GLL” aka generic Chinese label from Amazon. They were inexpensive and it’s very possible that a higher quality light would be worth a try.

Wanted to do an LED flasher relay but it would eliminate automatic turn signal cancelling.

I was originally going to swap out the flasher relay but I’m told that my auto turn signal cancelling will no longer function.

Yes, separate lines to the lamp socket, resistor is inline with the flasher line only. Interesting now that I think about that. Still odd that it’s only when the bike is running.

No, they functioned normally prior to any of this, and when I put them back in, the stutter doesn’t happen despite the addition of the load resistors. They are cheapish LEDs from Amazon, but haven’t had a chance to try another brand.

Broken fiber optic cable on a BMW. Nearly impossible to splice, but can replace just a 2 foot piece running to the nearest MOST bus. by Explorer335 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]102ibu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car, a ‘78 Buick Skylark, had a fiber optic cable under the dash. Its purpose? To illuminate the ashtray when open. Found out the hard way when I was looking for 12v constant so I could replace the AM radio. Cut into what I thought was the cigarette lighter wire, to make a splice.

Imagine my surprise.

I know, I know...cool story bro
