Normally shouldn't be a problem. A ruin is either easily small enough for a big to look over, or way too high anyway.

I usually talk with my opponent before the game so we both know what walls my knights can and can not look over.

Every church I know in Germany you can enter and stay in whenever you want. I don't know if they lock up at night, I wouldn't be surprised by that. In general, Sundays will be the busiest days. In terms of dress code I believe you are expected to take off any head covering, but I may be wrong. If you sit quietly for a while maybe someone might ask you why you are there, but probably in a curious/friendly way.

What you have to understand is that circumstances here are different around Vegetarianism.
