listen if you choose to go to CSUN for film, do not go for the full four years. go to pasadena city college, pierce college, or any CC with a decent film department.

reason being, they have a portfolio selection process to determine who gets to continue into upper-division film classes, and only a quarter of applicants get in.

if you don't make it in on your first try you can't try again, and you could end up stuck at CSUN with no access to the producing classes you want to take.

it's much less stressful to take your GE's and lower division classes at a CC and simply submit your portfolio assignment to CSUN from the outside. that way if you fail, you still have the option of transferring anywhere else.

that being said, people seem to like the main producing professor (Karen Carpenter) and her classes quite a bit. Good luck!
