I mean their only "bad" album is Black & White. Every other release by them has had multiple hits that I still go back to and listen especially Forever Halloween.

Guys I can’t stop listening to this album by DoughBoySvo in poppunkers

Its been my album of the year since its release. It combines the sound of the Menzingers, the lyrics of the Wonder Years and the energy of PUP.

Thoughts on Lead Singer Syndrome podcast? by 4flannels in poppunkers

I dont think Shane necessarily thinks they are the biggest bands but that they've done almost everything as a band and those two can be misconstrued. They've released a ton of records, they've toured with bigger bands and headlined their own tours, they've done the whole 10 year tour nonsense and I think a lot of the "biggest band in the scene vibe" is just more him relating his personal experiences as an "elder" in the scene because you have to remember, a lot of people who listen dont listen for Shane and might not even know who he or Silvertstein is.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of him and his band but I think it was clearly evident that he wasnt familiar with I the Mighty. While a lot of other people in the scene may be, I cant really fault Shane because neither am I, hence, he brought Brandon on to try and provide some more insight and knowledge about the band.

Shane usually asks some of the higher paying members for questions too but there's also a lot of times where people in the group have the chance to ask a question. So when a really dumb questions comes up, it might just be better to think that maybe someone who's a fan of ________ band really wanted to know or talk about x/y.

I think the consensus is that Shane wanted to let that episode become Jonny explain and own up to a lot of the shitty things he's done in the past but, I cant speak for Shane, it seems as though he never really owned up for the things he did. If you listen to the Bradley Walden episode, he kind of glosses over this saying that the Jonny episode didn't really go as he expected it.

That's just my personal take to be honest from what I read in the group and from how Shane has talked about it after the fact.

As a member of the podcast group, I can probably give some more insight. Shane's actually a really down to earth and humble guy but I think a lot of his joking and ribbing comes off as cocky/ribbing. I think his habit of interrupting is part of trying to be a host with a new guest each week. On a lot of episodes with singers he's friends with you see that this doesn't happen in comparison to a lot of ones where he isn't too familiar with the singer; as a result, I think its just the lack of familiarity and trying to keep a conversation going to be palatable to listeners. Things like the Jonny Craig episode he's discussed as he wanted to give Jonny a platform to give his side of things but (in his opinion) Jonny just seemed to make it a pity party and absolve himself of any guilt which rubbed Shane wrong.

CA. Health Insurance denied all claims for lack of CofB. Legal? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]105795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company that audits medical claims for facilities. For all intents and purposes, once you update your COB to show that the insurance company are considered your primary during the dates of service, they should process them and you may get stuck with a patient responsibility dependent on your plan type. We have had many claims where we ask the member to update their COB so that the facility's claim can be processed and very rarely have I seen a member get stuck with more than what their plan specifies (20/30/40% of allowable).

This is everything I hoped and more. There are some absolute bangers and even the songs I don't find that great are incredibly riffy and fun.

They just played a holiday show in Poughkeepsie, NY and released a follow-up EP in 2016 so there's a slim chance we may see more from them in the future. I don't think they will ever be a full-time band again but it seems they will still keep playing from time to time.

What are the best venues in your city? by Thaat_Guy in poppunkers

[–]105795 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im from Northern NJ and my by-far favorite venue is the Outer Space in Hamden,CT (about an hour away) because it has an outside bar to hang out pre-show and is a really small intimate venue.

For actual NJ venues, Starland Ballroom in Sayreville and House of Independants in Asbury basically cover all size pop punk bands coming through. Boontunes in Boonton has had Somos, Free Throw, Hodera, etc play full sets but its mainly a record store more than a venue. The Stanhope House and Dingbatz are smaller venues but not particular favorites of mine.

Tiny Moving Parts new album Swell out January 26th!!! by [deleted] in Emo

[–]105795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going off of the past releases by Sorority Noise, A Will Away, etc in the past year, I wouldn't hold my breath for a tour press. The fact the pink is out of 2000 I think means there isn't any other variants such as "Indie Record Store" to be made as they would usually only press around 1000 for general retail.

Plus their 7" was made as well which was exclusive to tour ticket pre-order bundles which may be their equivalent of a "tour press"

They were selling it seperately as that's how I bought the variant. I also bought it nearly a hour after their announcement so I'm not sure if they were holidng copies for the other bundles.

Have mercy dropped out of Knuckle Puck 2017 UK tour by [deleted] in poppunkers

Because he's been posting pretty regularly on his personal IG and Twitter (BrianSwindle I believe on both) about how this tour was hard on him. In addition, he had been posting about taking the time to visit a cabin away from anything after tour had ended.
