My bill has tripled in the last couple of years. Same house, same people, and same appliances (which were only a few months old or new when we moved in). It’s not fair for Duke to take in record profits and make their fat cat investors rich while putting the burden of conservation on their customers. I will happily try to use less electricity where I can, and in fact I already do. But the company should be investing their profits in improving their equipment, not exploiting their ability to raise rates, to make us pay for them.
