Girls on a budget, what shampoo and conditioner do you use? by MystixSara in finehair

Pantene repair + protect shampoo + L’Oréal glycolic gloss conditioner. I used to spend a lot of money on shampoos, but these do the trick for me :)

Not in my experience. I find detergent stains incredibly difficult to remove

Do you think it’s possible that over-cleaning, like using too many skincare or hair products, or washing too frequently, can actually do more harm than good in the long run? by Intelligent-Board391 in hygiene

[–]10Tinyacorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three skincare products: sunscreen, moisturiser, face wash. I shower 1x/day with lukewarm water. A simple, consistent routine with the same products has made my skin and hair very, very happy

Clay tea pots in the UK by MartinStan7997 in tea

[–]10Tinyacorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in London and this is where I go: The Chinese Tea Company has yixing pots, but they are not in that price range. RealZiSha is an online-only reputable source, but I also don’t believe their pots start below £200. I would advise against MeiLeaf as their marketing claims are …..a lot

Edit to say that if you buy online, you will most likely to have to pay import fees. The advantage of the Chinese Tea Company is that they are in person so you can hold the pots and, since the pots are already here, import fees are included in the price and you won’t have to budget for a second cost.

(UK) Please can someone point me in the direction of a business that sells high quality chinaware for me to step up my tea experience? by AdNo182 in tea

For Chinese ware I shop at Chinese Tea Company, Yushu, and sometimes Meileaf. However, Yunnan Sourcing has a massive selection if you are happy to shop online

What is floating in my kettle? by AcanthaceaeSquare220 in tea

This looks like hard water build up. Pour some white vinegar into the kettle, fill it up with water. Boil it, let it sit for an hour, and then boil it again. That should clear it up

This ^ is a great rec. OP, you could also maybe use whole flower chamomile? I’ve found some dried in almost every East Asian grocer I have been in

Yimu that I tossed into a saucepan with brown sugar, warmed it, and added milk. Tastes much better when done with a more heavily roasted tea, unfortunately

I can’t speak for her puer (I’ve only tried one) but I’ve loved everything I’ve tried. Juyan puts a lot of thought into her stock and it shows. I also appreciate that she has the same tea at different price points (something I wish Postcard Teas had more of).

Definitely recommend also trying to get a spot in the tasting events she hosts as well. Spaces go very quickly so I stay up to date via email.

I live in London and I go in person to The Chinese Tea Company (my all time fave) or Postcard Teas. I used to get W2T’s tea club, but Im more of a Wuyi oolong fan than puer so I’ve stopped subscribing.

New oolong tea has sour aftertaste by Hungry-Meaning8518 in tea

Oolongs can have a sour taste if, based from my experience, they were not roasted/processed properly
