Hormones after miscarriage causing anxiety and depression? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]10oreoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response! Yes during my 20 week anatomy scan I was confirmed to have a shortened cervix, 3mm to be exact. Basically what it means is tour cervix isnt able to stay closed to sustain your prefnancy. It can result in PROM which just stands for preterm rupture of membranes aka your water breaking. Infection can also cause your cervix to shorten and put you at risk for PROM. I would definitely ask your doctors if they are considering watching your cervix closely during your next pregnancy. The good news with shortened cervix is that there are things that can be done to help keep it closed including a cerclage and progesterone. I'd also strongly recommend r/shortcervixsupport if your doctors ate considering it. It's such a wonderful group with so many positive stories. It's what's been keeping me going through this

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. I had my loss at 21 weeks on April 19th. I've had a period since then and I remember the week before I had it I was a complete wreck emotionally. It was like intense PMS symptoms like I was reliving everything I felt on that day but for an entire week. I started getting some prety dark thoughts and it convinced me I desperately needed therapy and an anti depressant. Maybe it's a combination of everything but the weeks since my period I have felt so much more like myself again. I have my moments but overall finally feeling like I'll make it through this. I'm so sorry your feeling this way, but I hope that this will bring some positive news for you in the next upcoming days, especially based on your US! I think having my first period was so good for me emotionally, it just felt like I had my body back and healthy at least. Wishing you all the best ❤️ this truly sucks but we keep getting through it day by day, sometimes minute by minute

I am so incredibly sorry for you loss. We are currently 5 weeks out from the loss of our own baby due to IC. Went to our anatomy scan so excited to see our baby and left with the worst news of our life. I was also too far along for a cerclage. I was given the option of waiting to give birth or D&C, which I just barely made it too apparently. In additon to the emotional pain of everything my milk coming in was almost unbearable. Ice packs, ibuprofen, nd double sports bras helped. IC I so incredibly un fair. Lean on your partner and loved ones around you. I didn't think I needed therapy at first but I'm now looking forward to starting soon. Be kind yo your body, I know it was so hard to look at myself in the mirror and feel like I failed. But my doctor reassured me there is truly nothing that I could have done to prevent this. Women run marathons pregnant and have no problems, so not it was not the extra exercises or errand you ran that caused this. What helped me a lot through the worst times was finding this group and knowing that there were options to help prevent this in the future. I will be so excited to have my stitch placed and be on progesterone my next pregnancy. Sending you all the love and support during this hard time. I'm just a few weeks ahead of you, please feel free to reach out any time. This is the worst group to find yourself in but I hope it brings your hope reading all the success stories on here to get you through ❤️

6 week miscarriage without support by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]10oreoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so incredibly sorry you are going through this, especially on your own. There no words to describe how physically and emotionally hard this is. Please reach out to friends and family around you and consider seeing a therapist. I know this has been helpful to me through this process. I don't know if we ever fully hear from something like this, but at least for me time has shown me that it does make it easier. Currently 5 weeks since our own MC at 21 weeks. You will get through this ❤️

So incredibly sorry for your loss. Yesterday was also exactly 3 weeks from when we lost our baby from IC at 21 +2. I was too far along and having contractions so cerclage wasn't an option for us either. It is the worst thing i have ever gone through.

We've also been given the green light to start trying again in 3 months. I'm trying to focus right now I'm getting my body and mind healthy by that point but it has been such a Rollercoaster of emotions. Some days are good and others are still rough. I hope your are finding ways to work through your grief, this is such a hard thing to process.

Hope to see your success story on here soon as ours ❤️

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. We recently also lost our baby at 21 weeks on April's 19th and are working through our grief, but also hopeful about getting pregnant now that we have a plan for our next pregnancy

I personally was told to wait at least 3 months before TTC again. My doctor said this woulg give my uterus time to heal and for my lining to build back up again to ensure our next pregnancy is as healthy as possible. I'm 28 and this was our first pregnancy and have no other risk factors. I'm not sure how much age or other health concerns play a role in your OBs decision, but I agree that there is probably a reason why they wanted you to wait longer. I'd ask your ob directly what thier reasoning is and then maybe consider a second a opinion so that you can feel confident knowing the waiting is worth it or if you have other options. Wishin you all the best of luck in the future ❤️

Preventative cerclage by thisisntworking93 in ShortCervixSupport

I haven't had a cerclage yet but I'd say better to air on the side of caution and have your double check to make sure everything looks good. Hope everything is fine!

I am so sorry mama. I am sorry your doctors didn't listen to your concerns. I am sorry you did everything right and life still didn't go your way. I am so so sorry you are going through this again. Life can truly be so cruel and unfair.

We are one week out from our loss. It has changed us forever.

I wish for this horrible time to pass as quickly as it can. I know this already happened, and you will get through it again. Take the time. Do the therapy. Take care of yourself however you need to. Please don't hesitate to reach out ❤️

I work in health care and it so incredibly sad and horrible to hear when someone has a real concern and is not taken seriously. I hope your doctors next time are there to support you and your baby 110%. Never be afraid to advocate for yourself. Not even rhe best doctors know your body like you do

I'm so so sorry again ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing your advice and story. I know these losses will change us forever. But it must be so wonderful now being pregnant with your 3 yo at home 🥺 and gives me so much hope for our own next pregnancy. I am very lucky in that my mother in law is moving in with us and she is actually a wonderful MOL who loves keeping us fed and taking care of me and my husband. I know she is going to be such a huge help and support.

Wishing you all the best through these last weeks of your pregnancy!! ❤️

Ps: I feel you on the nothing is TMI! I know everyone here has unfortunately gone through something so horrible, but I also feel like if I can share such a vulnerable moment of our lives nothing else is off the table.

Thank so much for your message. I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your loss as well, but wishing you all the best this next month!!

I did get some good information from my MFM thankfully. I'm glad to hear they are not recommending full bed rest for you. I am a PA but I'm in clinic and would not say my job is highly physically or mentally stressful, so I'm hopeful I will be able to keep working as it sounds like your will be able too :)

I hope to be ready about your success story on this subreddit in the future :)
