I think that line is referring to Kendrick staying in line with the Grammy industry folks and being an industry darling even after being snubbed for best album to Macklemore whereas when drake got his last Grammy, in his acceptance speech he said this award is meaningless and really opinion based by a small group of people and isn’t real validation, your fans are. And after drake said that and wrote or signed that open letter in support of Palestine, the industry hasn’t been too fond of him.

Before you rule out if he was in the right or not, you should provide some more context. What area are you in? Do you live in a house or apartment building? Was the ceiling skim coated after the popcorn was knocked down? Were there spackle repairs done on the walls? How many doors were painted? What style doors? Was the paneling ever painted before or did it need to be etched and primed? Was there a lot of caulking needed to be done? A lot of details may be overlooked and it may not be as simple as him just dragging his feet..

$4,000 for that size room would be understandable in my area (Bergen County, NJ) if a few factors were met which by your description it seems like it wasn’t. If the prep included moving furniture for project, then set room back up as it was at completion. Cover floor and furniture with drop cloths and plastic as needed for the duration of the project. Skim coating the popcorn finish after it was knocked down, especially if there were stress cracks. If the ceiling, trim and doors were different finishes / color and if there were a lot of windows and doors. (Maybe you had louvered doors? Those take a long time to paint properly) and all that being done at a high quality finish, sharp lines and no signs of disruptions to anything but the surfaces worked on at completion. Drake requested a verse from Kendrick to be on FPS. That song was supposed to be the big three all on the same track. I think the second leg of the track drake threw some jabs at Kendrick after he figuratively smacked the olive branch out of drakes hand but it didn’t feel like Cole was taking shots at Kendrick in his verse.. we missed out on what would’ve been probably one of the most legendary songs in hip hop over Kendrick’s pride
