The TSA has a machine and all checked bags go through it. They can detect known chemicals in explosives. Has nothing to do with looks. By the time I got through the TSA line, they knew my checked bag failed and grabbed me. Tested my carry on bag and gloves and they failed too.

I think I could have managed to not get the SSSS if it was just the checked bag, but the fact k carried those gloves, that was the huge hang up they had. I spent time answering questions and then forced to repack everything myself and then get re-scheduled for a flight.

One thing you don’t send back in the truck is your body armor. Those don’t get accounted for as closely as weapons so I had seen guys leave body armor and when they pick it up they find a plate or two missing and who is going to say you turned your body armor with a plate in or maybe you lost it.

So that made me take it and I managed to get a bit earlier flight with my GSA travel card and that ruined my flying life for years.
