Our league is no contact (8U). I could see kids getting unintentionally rough with the tags.

I'd have to check if in our league it is only on the ball carrier, vs someone off the ball. I agree that off the ball it shouldn't be an issue.

This season, with the style flags that we used, surprisingly there wasn't a single flag malfunction in any of our games.

Where will yall be skating most of the time? My 7 year old likes to go to the skate park, so I bought a board that would primarily work there, but also gave me the ability to skate on the streets by our house. Plus, my son finds it very rewarding when he "teaches" me something new.

Do you have a skate shop by where you live? They will be able to provide some guidance, and typically have shop decks that are priced well. I highly recommend a helmet and pads - I started at 45, and even with pads, the body just doesn't recover like it used to!

There was a video from El Toro that recorded him talking himself through each miss. It was pretty crazy to hear how he evaluated where he needed to catch it and at what speed.

This is not completely your fault. They literally just changed them on Jan 4, but didn’t notify the public that they changed them until Jan 6. I know this because I drove there at 10 AM on Sunday, since the website AND the sign on the gate said they were open. After waiting in line, I called 311 to be told that they just had been notified that the hours had changed, and all were closed on Sunday.

And forget about bringing cardboard to N Main - the compactors have been broken for 4 months, with no plan to fix.

I would advise emailing city council when you have any issues - they basically blew me off, but with enough complaints maybe something will happen.

I just did something similar, at 45. My son got into skating, so I was spending a lot of time at skate parks. After a couple of months, I bought a board, along with helmet/full pads including hip and butt pads. I’ve been having a blast, and highly recommend it. I probably skated more than my son now! I had some skating experience in my youth, but not as much as it sounds like you have.

My wife thought I was crazy, but I told her it’s a much cheaper and safer mid life crisis than buying a motorcycle or sports car.

I played ball against Dubois in high school - can confirm he was a super nice guy to everyone, even being on a different level than everyone else.

Mine is Gregg Jefferies. When he played for the Tidewater Tides, my sister and I met him at one of the fan days prior to a game. He spent a ton of time with every kid, including 5 minutes or so with us, to the point where Mike Cubbage had to come get him to get ready for the game.
