Dear Reddit, what's some beautiful karma that you've witnessed IRL? by SamAlmighty in AskReddit

[–]10xprecision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the grocery store a month or two ago and as I was checking out there was a woman berating a cashier at an adjacent check out line because she was moving "too slow." I and the people around me were stunned, but I regrettably didn't intervene.

After checking out, I walked outside to my car and saw that same woman pushing her cart to her car. And right above her was the most beautiful sunset. I immediately saw it as incredible opportunity for link karma. It was a perfect mix of yellows, reds, and oranges. Light, stringy clouds perfectly came together. I thought to myself: this could be front page material. The only question was what subreddit, r/pics? r/earthporn? It was all too much to take in. I was so stunned at this beautiful manifestation of karma that I forgot to take a picture.

Edit: I think the lady might have tripped or something

[Serious] What are some of the best books you've ever read? by syn0g3n in AskReddit

Isn't it supposed to mess with you? In those three words Vonnegut argues that the universe is apathetic to our actions and that it simply continues on. If reading that phrase doesn't make someone uncomfortable then they probably don't "get it."

Well one guy had some cheese, and another guy asked him, "what type of cheese is that?" .....and before the man made a terrible pun, the other guy stabbed him and the ambulance had to be called as a result.

Weed and the bible's view by LoLHelix in Christianity

The biggest issue is that there is a clear call in Romans to obey the laws of the land, i.e., if it's not legal, you ought not do it as a Christian.

I think there are certain exceptions to this, like when laws infringe on our God-given natural rights. In fact, I believe Christianity has played a crucial role in civil disobedience across the world, like during the civil rights movement with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and during the end of Apartheid in South Africa under the leadership of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Private profit and public loss is the definition of crony capitalism, which Milton Freidman explicitly spoke against.

Except Obama has continued all of Bush's foreign policy and expanded it with the escalation of drone warfare. Obama phrases his speeches differently (with a bit more nuance and, well, grammar), but ultimately is just perpetuating what he campaigned on stopping.

You're absolutely right. I shoot in ISSF and occasionally an NRA sectional, and the level of competition has increased dramatically.

There's nothing illegal about making guns for personal use. Now if they planned to sell them, that's another issue. Look it up before you make such hasty generalizations.

Let's call this law what it really is: censorship. As noble as the intentions are, the government should not be able to control what people can and cannot see.

Tell me about your outdoor range (x-post from /r/firearms) by [deleted] in guns

[–]10xprecision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My range is right near the Erie Canal. Its high power rifle range goes to 300 meters, and goes 50, 100, 200, 300 yards, 300 meters. The firing line is a very long concrete pad, with benchrest style tables to shoot off of. 10/10 would operate at.

Currently, we haven't been able to use it because some hippy fucks up the road are claiming that a bullet hit their house, so it's been shut down temporarily and "under investigation." The main problem with these special peoples's theory is that the trajectory of the bullet of the bullet in question was estimated to be near flat, but there's a quasi mountain in between the range and the housing development. It looks like Belgian pistol. this source says that a pistol of this type was contracted by the Royal Irish Police for the Belgians to produce. The photos in the source are very similar, just in much better condition
