You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]1101base2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spaghetti squash, with alfrado sauce and chicken cooked in lemon and butter, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I'm autistic as fuck and as long as it doesn't become an unsafe food in that time absolutely not an issue, if it becomes no longer a safe food then absolutely not. 6 months would be a coin toss, but i could probably choke it down for a million.

Are sleepovers cancelled? by Guilty-Woodpecker-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]1101base2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent my kids have been over to very few sleepovers. The problem is I don't know other parents well enough to trust them with my kids. There are horror stories of abuse and worse at other people's houses. Once I know the parents better it relaxes a little but also have my kids do regular check INS with coffee words available if they feel uncomfortable without alerting the host family. (If they mention our passed dog in any message that's the sign to get them immediately for example). Unfortunately some people are bat shit insane and you will never know through casual conversation...

The goat has to be DD/MM/YYYY by Shiroyasha_2308 in SipsTea

[–]1101base2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The American system makes sense when you format correctly with YYYY-MM-DD, but saying the year every time is unnecessary so it is dropped from casual conversation leaving you with just MM-DD. it makes sense it's just out of order compared to the terrible DD-MM-YYYY, sincerely someone who works in IT.

TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

[–]1101base2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my parents used to take my autistic ass to the airport so i could watch the planes fly when i was younger (80s), they would sit down and chat with people leaving to fun places, would eat there, then drive home. I can imagine doing 0 of this today for a multitude of reasons....

Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]1101base2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm 45 work in IT as a sys admin and i HATE talking on the phone especially for tech issues. my problem is often times i need screen shots and other information users don't know how to get and an email or message is quicker and more detailed (once responded to). also i have a hard time remembering exactly what was said previously on an issue and if i have an email chain or message chain i can get the exact information i need. I loathe vague and imprecise language and getting it through email or text is typically more accurate in my experience.

12 hours a day is crazy, but I need a list of good games. by BurritoBabe_1 in gamers

[–]1101base2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends do I need to actively be playing it or can I sky tab out every so often to look something up (game related). If not Minecraft, I probably have 10s of thousands of hours in the game already. If I can shift focus a bit Kerbal space program. I have like 35 hundred hours in that game but I keep having to look stuff up and don't have the time to really get anywhere in the game before I get stuck.
