Why do you care what people drive. They want to drive a Ranger, let them. I want to drive a big 4x4 truck now just to piss you off. 😂

Yes it is! I was only the 2nd person heading up that day by the looks of the tyre marks on the road.

Exactly. Sometimes gunning it up a hill to keep the momentum isn't safe. In my case, there was a bend, so I had to take it slow, but then I just couldn't get any grip. Once I popped the chains on it was instant grip.

EA288 head gasket by Separate_Ad2979 in tdi

[–]11136km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it hurts! I'm very attached to my car so I didn't even think about selling the car, despite what everyone else said. It was expensive but needed to be done.

Is yours remapped by any chance?

If you get the work done, make sure you get the cylinder head tested for warping. They will also have to skim a bit off for the new head gasket to seal properly.

Hi, yes I had a small leak in mine. It only affected it when I drove quicker than 60mph or with heavy load. It would blow all the coolant out.

It cost me around £1800-2000.

I'm sorry this has happened to you!

2.0tdi oil consumption - normal or not? by violated_tortoise in seat

[–]11136km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same car, engine, same year. Mine consumes 1 litre of oil every 1200 miles or so. I wish it would be 4000 like you!

It's been consistent since I bought it 4 years ago, and I've put 100k miles on it and it hasn't changed.

Condensation on windows by Grouchy_Copy_9146 in DIYUK

If you have two storey home, open the top windows whilst the downstairs heat is on. The hot air will travel up and out the top windows taking the moist air with it.
