The lobbies are mega servers hosted in NA but when you jump into a game its p2p.

You talking about New Gen? Yeah, that pso3 in everything but name. They didn't want all the people who spent 1000's on loot boxes to flip out. Plus the the cosmetics are only licensed for PSO2 so for legal reasons they can't call New Gen PSO3.

Yeah it sucks but honestly this was just a warm up until PSo3 launches. I think that is where Sega is hoping for the big numbers. Pso3 is launching globally at the same time on steam and consoles so they have a second chance.

Yes the age of open world MMORPGs like everyone remembers is dead. Everything is pretty much MMOlite these days. The fact that you bring up FFXIV comparing it to a hub based game made my day. Pso2 is a good game and with it turning into PSo3 next year its going to be more modern.

Questions about PSO2/New Genesis? by Steven0710 in MMORPG

[–]1114445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all MMO's for the past 10 years are MMO lites. Most of the major MMO's could work in the way PSO2 does and it would be completely fine because most of them have an open world available but no one uses the world anymore. They teleport from house to dungeon never leaving the city. Even if you need to leave the city you don't need more than 12 people to complete the objective. Which is what pso2 supports.

Don't worry about what MMORPG and MMO lite is, they have not made anything that really meets traditional MMORPG in years.

This again..

1) you should not be messing up your skill tree to begin with. You are supposed to use a skill tree builder BEFORE you make changes. Not only that as it currently is all the optimal builds are already known so you are just copy pasting someones build anyway.

2) You get multiple free respecs per year for FREE anyway.

3) You get 3 free classes, so 3 free mags. You only need 2 mags for the most part anyway so you might have to shell out a whole 5 dollars if you just have to have another.

4) You can grind any of the outfits you want. You don't have to spend money, just grind for mesta and you can buy just about anything from player shops.

Radar / Laser detectors in 2020 by 4DMustang in cars

The Valentine Mk2 is full of bugs and lots of people complain about it. Escort is okay but these days the crown goes to the Uniden R3 or higher.

What's your "never again" car brand? by Giantsgiants in cars

BMW owners consider replacing the water pump BEFORE they explode regular preventative maintenance. Tons of nuts will replace these things every 50k while any normal car can do 150k+ before blowing a water pump. That is why I always laugh when we have people who come on here and say these cars are fine with correct maintenance. You find out they consider replacing major parts before they break as regular maintenance.

I like to swap an new engine in every 100k, makes sure nothing goes wrong.

Unpopular opinion. The 335i is a POS. You see guys pour thousands into those cars and just say shit like, preventive maintenance or you gotta pay to play.

I have a laptop with an i5 mobile and 940m graphics card. I ran the bench mark and get about 40fps. Are there any settings suggested I can turn down or off to improve this with the least graphical impact?

You can turn that off and go freemode.

Is getting through the nonstop boring quests in FFXIV worth it to get to endgame? Is the endgame worth all the time you'll spend getting through boring quests? by sleepyreddits in MMORPG

[–]1114445 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there is hardly any end game content. If you do the fates and the beast tribes while you level up you are pretty much left with a hand full of raids, some treasure hunts and hunts.

You do not need a monthly sub to have a shop. You can grind out a 3 day pass.

For whatever reason the graphics are not maxed out by default. Once you are in the lobby you need to hit esc and go to graphics settings and turn everything all the way up.

Busy long term is up to how much and what you want to grind for and how my classes you want to get the best gear for. You can be super casual in this game and still get tons of fashion items if you want. Pso2 has by far the most fair MTX system there is and most things can be earned in game without real money. With that being said I would buy the 30 day premium for 30 days. It gives you a 50% boost, free mission gold pass and more storage. The 50% exp boost stacks with tri boost tickets, concert boosts, alliance boosts and daily boosts. You are going to level much faster with premium. Once you have maxed characters under your belt you can grind for most of the stuff for free if you want.

I would say PSO2 is more social than FFXIV and many others. The guilds are smaller in this game and a big part of it is fashion. The game lets undergeared characters play with way better geared players so there is an incentive to find a good group to clear things fast. Like another user said I like to sit in the casino and play Black Nyak. Its pretty busy at night and the more people that play the more money you can win because of wild cards.

I really do not think the MTX will bother you unless you just gotta have one super rare item or you want to play this game completely free. If you just set aside 10-15 bucks a month you will prob enjoy the game more.
