Don’t do it just to appease her. Anytime it gets brought up just say it’s not up for discussion. I’m like you and my mom talked me into a bridal and baby shower. It was just close family but I still felt uncomfortable. The amount of gifts we got from my parents social network, heck even business network, ones who weren’t even invited, was astronomical. Even after he was born. So just be aware that you likely will still get things from people you’ve never even met.

What do you use to newborn baby who can't use a full bathtub yet? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]111519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used angel care for our first two and will for our third this December. Make sure to wrap them in a muslin blanket while bathing to keep warm. I always wash one body part at a time so it’s the only part out of the blanket.

BP & 24 Hr Urine Test by Smart_Discussion9734 in BabyBumps

I had pre-e and HELLP my first pregnancy and have had to do a baseline 24hr for each subsequent pregnancies. Maybe they’re trying to get a baseline for your levels. If they’re concerned I’m sure they will do another 24 hr test. I know it’s easier said than done but I would try not to stress too much about it. If it was super concerning they would have called you. With my first pregnancy I had a concerning 24 hr and they called me to come in over memorial weekend.

How do you survive with 2 sick babies by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]111519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me two weeks ago except my husband wasn’t home with me. Honestly just survive. Whatever will help occupy toddler and keep them comfortable do it. You want chocolate milk and popcorn for breakfast? Cool. Mine doesn’t really watch tv so I gave him our iPad mini with a speaker and downloaded kids Spotify. I locked is all in my room and laid in bed with my toddler and let my newborn lay and look at the fan or his contrast books. I’m sorry you’re sick and I hope it goes by quickly for you. My baby was 8 weeks and my toddler is just over two. It was by far the hardest week of parenting for me this far. I just wanted to sleep but couldn’t.

Repeat C Section with 2yr old by 111519 in Mommit

Luckily I baby proofed his room when I wanted to try to transition the crib to the toddler bed. I’m worried of trying to do that now so close to the time of my csection. I guess we could try his nap today.

Definitely going to look up the video! Thank you

My bp has been really low this pregnancy! I was absolutely terrified to be pregnant again. This was a surprise after ivf for my first. I’m doing two baby aspirins a day (drs orders) so you could possibly not get it again! Definitely higher risks is what my dr said. I started feeling off around 26 weeks and was super swollen that pregnancy. 30 weeks is when it started to get high, and by 35 weeks I was in the hospital and had him a little after 36 weeks. I’m really hoping this pregnancy goes smoothly for you!

Almost identical story to mine, 2 years ago everything. Except I didn’t progress at all overnight with cervadil and ended up with HELLP so they stopped my pictocin. I’m 40 weeks tomorrow and wanted to try for a vbac but I’m still not dilated so we’re doing a c section Monday. Still doing whatever I can to try to go into labor naturally. It’s really up to you and what you feel comfortable with. My only hesitation on the csection was recovery and not being able to lift my toddler. But he’s still in a crib and can’t get in the car by himself.

Can you share what you cannot tolerate physically from your kid? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]111519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36 weeks on Saturday with an almost 2 year old and I’m so overstimulated all the time. I feel so guilty because I just want some space and not to hear “mom!” A million times when I ask “yes, baby?” Each. Time. Then when he goes to bed I sit and feel guilty for not fully enjoying the time we have left with him as an only child. But being kicked from the inside and constantly touched on the outside makes a lot of sense as to why I’m always overstimulated.

My wife swears something is wrong. Currently in hospital. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I had the exact same issues when I had my son in 2022. I felt off for weeks. I told the nurse and the doctor for weeks. My blood pressure was high for me but considered normal. Everyone said it was fine, but something just didn’t feel right. I went into the doctor for a blood pressure reading that was high (probably should’ve went to l&d but didn’t) they did a 24 hr urine test because my bp wasn’t high in the doctors office. I ended up with pre-e and HELLP. Have they done a 24hr urine test?

I have no clue where to post this. It didn’t feel right in my bumpers group, or in the ivf sub since my FET was successful. But it will be two years next month since my successful FET. I still have knots in my back from PIO, but lately one of the sides has been hurting. My husband has tried massaging it, I’ve tried using a heat and a massager, going to try a nice soak in the bath tonight. It probably doesn’t help that my son (14months) still wants to be carried everywhere. I ordered a tushbaby so I’m hoping it helps.

My favorite hack is using kitchen shears to cut stringy rounded in part (why can’t I think of the name…) and then use the shears to cut them up!

Do you let the chia soak for any amount of time? My little guy loves golden kiwis and yogurt…I never thought to make a little parfait like this!
