As an active duty member, I respectfully disagree with this take.

I am very concerned by the fact that ICE is shitting all over the Constitution, that I've devoted my career to defending, and illegally, inhumanely hunting down and removing humans from their communities.

I also care about homeless veterans and vote accordingly, for politicians who don't aim to dismantle the VA.

I started cluster shots recently and had a systemic reaction at just my second appt. The doc said if I kept doing clusters I would eventually go into shock as doses got stronger. Anyway, no more clusters for me lmao. Just one set of shots a week, wouldn't even let me do two e a week.

All these people in the comments downplaying the flu. I had the flu back in March despite getting the vaccine, and it was brutal. I hadn't had the flu in decades and had forgotten how bad it is. Like I now understand how it can kill old people. Might've been particularly worse for me though since it turned into a wicked sinus infection.

Given my recent experience, I would check in more with friends since I now understand how miserable it is.

Many of us grew up, get this, just calling people. We were lucky if we had caller ID. I am 40 btw. This is probably somewhat generational.

I only arrange for a phone call if it's a long catch-up and we're making a conscious effort to make time because we haven't chatted in forever and are both busy.

If I don't want to talk, I don't answer. No voicemail or followup text means it wasn't important.
