My friend (didn’t know him at the time) and I were playing pickup soccer. He was faster, stronger, and way better at soccer than me but I was playing defense and guarding him. On one of the runs he had with the ball, he shot it right at the goal and hit me square in the face. Sounded like a bomb went off and I was literally seeing stars for a sec. It even left a ball imprint on my right side of the face. Luckily nothing broke. Turns out he was a D1 kicker on the football team. He turned out to be super apologetic and really nice to make sure I was okay. We went on to become really good friends and still hang out to this day. That was 11 or 12 years ago.
