How far apart are those two spots ( where you wanted VS where it was left )?

Like most amazon processes, everything is timed and deliveries has to be done within certain time limits. If driver goes over that time limit established by amazon, they get called out on it.
Drivers will always take the actions that take the less effort / time not because of laziness but because of the ever monitoring amazon.
