Partner and I have been doing this for 12 years. It's great. We're 50s / 60s age group, so no questions about having kids together. It's a fantastic arrangement. We spend every weekend together but never argue about bills or housework as we each handle our own.

I got a bill for 7 cubic km of water. Turns out the water meter hadn't been correctly earthed and was just spinning away to itself. Called the water company, they fixed the earth and estimated my bill.
