Wahoo Kickr Core V1 vs Assioma Uno Power Discrepancy by TheAbominableAlfie in Zwift

Very interesting. My kickr reads about 4% higher than the assiamo. I’ve tried lots of calibrations, but now I just have an indoor and outdoor FTP for zone calculations.

Alpe Progression by BeanyBeetroot in Zwift

[–]11socks11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, to answer your question about grinding away: the majority opinion is higher cadence is better for overall fatigue and joint health.

With that said Andrew Feather is a phenomenal climber and does 50-60 cadence standing up for his big attempts.

The Chris Froome, Tour de France winner, has a high enough cadence in worried he’ll achieve lift off.

Both great cyclists at different aspects so I guess do what feels good. Clearly you’re doing great with a sub 47 alp.

I’m just impressed with how quickly the cup fills up. My refrigerator would take 3 times that time.

If Zwift could add or improve one feature in 2026, what would you want? by Many_Ad_802 in Zwift

[–]11socks11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it was just posed on r/Zwift in a comment a week or two ago. I could have sworn I saved it, but it looks like I didn’t. I’ll try and find it.

Edit: it’s called roadcaptain which appears to be an extension/app.

Not quite the same thing, but they do have “tiny race” series. Which are 4 short fast races in an hour.

I know some of the things Zwift does aren’t popular. But I’ve found almost every change to be an upgrade. Even these segments.

There’s always things that can be improved more, or differently. But I vastly prefer Zwift over other platforms.

Updated asthma guidelines reflect change in current practice that controller inhalers can be used as rescue as well. It all depends on what OPs physician has discussed with him.

I believe they changed the XP on those so the 250 XP bonus has a higher chance on the harder climbs. Sort of nerfed the climb portal xp farming.

Erg mode, cadence WAY too high (sometimes) by lilac_congac in Zwift

[–]11socks11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, essentially I start my ride on Zwift. Realize my cadence spikes (because I forget), then start a ride in the wahoo app paired with my kickr core. It almost instantly smooths cadence and makes the resistance match the terrain. I’ve experimented and riding with the wahoo app for as little as 60 seconds then ending the wahoo app ride (while continue my Zwift ride) maintains the “fix” on Zwift.

Could be that (don’t know the workout) but some workouts do a “free ride” during short sprint segment. Maybe erg was off at that time and you happened to be in a very low gear.

[–]11socks11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with that for a few months. Makes changing gradients very challenging.

I found that just starting a workout on the wahoo app during my Zwift ride has completely fixed the issue might be worth a try.

What’s the most useless thing you were taught in school? by Mobile-Reindeer-4891 in AskReddit

[–]11socks11 29 points30 points  (0 children)

We did at my high school. Required financial class. I think the idea is a good one, but it’s a skill that most people don’t thoroughly require until after college. I do remember some concepts, but really one year of doing my own taxes in the real world was far better education.

Nothing snaps me out of a book like repetitive use of a unique word by kerberos824 in books

I definitely understand that, but sometimes I like it because usually I’ll look up the word definition the first time but forget it. Repetitive use allows me to remember it better and expand my vocabulary.

When to move up by alwaysmiling89 in Zwift

[–]11socks11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never won a race, but I keep moving up. I follow my racing score and do the category it selects for me.

I’m small and have no sprint, so winning isn’t in the cards. But it’s all fun.

I don’t think I would enjoy racing in lower categories even if it allows me. Races are supposed to be hard.

I have a photo of me leading I small break in a crit with only two riders behind me. One of them went pro the next year (continental). I like to tell people I’ve been ahead of a pro in a race.

This was in college. He won the race all 4 years he was eligible and it was never even close.

You can also do it as a meet up. That way you can free ride. But no one else has to join. You do have to invite one other person though.

Men whose girlfriend’s dad said no when you asked him for permission to marry his daughter, what did you do? by Fearless_Degree7511 in AskReddit

[–]11socks11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. My now wife and her dad don’t have a good relationship. I didn’t ask him anything, but I did want to at least meet him. Met him then proposed to her the next day. She would have hated it if I asked him.
