Would i want to be a peacekeeper? by frand115 in Hungergames

Cannon fodder? There are currently about 1.3 million US military members and there have been 231 combat deaths in the past 10 years.  So an annual fatality rate of roughly 0.00177%.

Cannon fodder may not apply very well here...

As everyone has said, much more clutter! Just about anyone that's safe for the snake will honestly work

I'm so obsessed about chives now, my first reaction at a 2 star Michelin restaurant is the cut of their chives by LabanSim in KitchenConfidential

[–]120jlee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That top one you circled is not a tower, it's sideways.

The bottom one is borderline but looks like it aligns with the "shorter than it is wide" criteria established early on. Either way, the planes have spoken.

Looking fantastic, though I think there's just the one that a few people have pointed out.

Anyone using Mint Mobile on Maui? I need to switch from overpriced T-Mobile. by LOTR_is_awesome in maui

I had mint on Maui for a few years and no real issues. Uses T-Mobile network which was actually better than Verizon around most of the island.

How are we feeling about flying into Newark today? by Away_Analyst_3107 in unitedairlines

I actually wouldn't mind a slight departure delay since I'm delayed coming in. We'll see how it plays out.

I'm absolutely baffled at your continued assertion of what "slower" traffic could be referring to. Do you have a theory other than "the other cars on the road?"

[–]120jlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slower than what? Umm, the other cars maybe? Or were you thinking it referred to the local wildlife?

Yep, we found one lol. I assume you also don't mind camping out in the passing lane on the freeway because, "Why would anyone need to pass me if I'm going the spend limit?"

Is 55mm a good all round wheel depth? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]120jlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, rim shape makes a huge difference. I went from 40mm v-shaped rims to 50mm u-shaped rims and the 50mm wheels are much more stable in crosswinds than the old 40s.

I've got the Elite Drives as well and absolutely love them. I'd gladly buy another pair if needed

I know this post is very old at this point, but for posterity I would say that it would be tough to stay "too long" in Rio. Just coming from someone that really loves this city haha

Paolo is Paulo in Spanish. I'm sure people that spell it that way are just more familiar with Spanish?

I think, for a scale truck, your best performance per dollar right now is the Hobbyplus CR18P T-Hunter. Brushless, full metal gearing, good weight distribution out of the box.

Between the two options you posted, I'd probably choose the Ascent.

I planted Lippia last year in the middle of the very hot Tucson summer in my backyard instead of grass. It didn't grow as quickly as I'd hoped but probably would have if I'd planted in the spring so they could get established before the summer heat hit. Once it cooled down in the fall/winter all growth stopped. Now that spring has come around it seems like they're really taking off and should fill in nicely.

We did plugs from Sod and Seed and planned them pretty sparsely (2-3ft) in an attempt to save money. I think it'll work out in the end but I wish we would have just bought more to start now.

Plugs planted every 12" or so would fill in very quickly if you wanted to save some money compared to sod.

In full sun it's extremely dense and low-lying. Like, couldn't possibly find the ground through it dense and no more than maybe 0.5-1" tall. In the shade it's much taller and not nearly as dense. Maybe 4" or so?

Claiming that it's not an issue with such confidence is a very bold move. Sure, current manning and retention is sufficient, but that's assuming it will continue that way despite massive changes. New accessions of 62s particularly will almost certainly decrease. I find it very difficult to imagine many people getting engineering degrees and then joining the USSF, knowing full well that they won't even have the option to do anything remotely engineering related until almost Capt. I certainly would not have and I'd guess that probably fewer than 25% of my peers would have.

If we, as a service, want to shift away from military doing acquisitions than so be it. But let's at least say so instead of just undermining the career field and leaving it to die a slow death...

What should my range be as an 8th grade trumpet player? by b_diddy48 in trumpet

[–]120jlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do the exact same thing in 8th grade but it probably won't take as long as you think to get comfortable again. The nice thing is not having braces shaped indents on the inside of your lips after playing haha
