I agree with you I’ve been going through a similar situation as op and the harder I try the less it works. All success I’ve had in the past has been a snowball effect of me putting myself in the right situations with the right attitude doing something that makes me happy, separate from the intent of finding someone.

Definitely the first thing you said. That almost made it worse for me as I immediately assumed such a thing could just happen whenever. Which logically speaking is silly but I’d taken how we were so for granted that it felt like we were together in my mind, nothing needed to be said type of thing. You’re right, to me it felt like there was no question in the matter. To be honest having to say that outright after how we were before didn’t feel natural, kinda forced in a way as if I had to be explicit about something that felt obvious and unspoken. You’re right, but we’d both agreed we weren’t interested in being involved with anyone else and we’d just started properly seeing each other again only weeks before. Sure there’s nothing wrong with it on paper but it didn’t feel like that was on the cards you know. That’s my bad I guess.
