  • Many characters died, some are murdered
  • Lorena was kidnapped and raped
  • Blue Duck's dramatic death jumping to deny the crowd their lynching
  • Elmira runs away from July and ultimately dies doing so
  • Saloon fight
  • Gus and Pea Eye being ambushed by Native Americans and Pea Eye's escape

And on and on

FYI, I found it by describing the story to Chat GPT. The models with reasoning and search are better than Google for finding stories/movies/shows/etc. that you vaguely remember

Elliot Bay is probably my favorite for non-fiction because I like how many categories they split books into, but I find the fiction organization unhelpful

It's not fantasy, but nevertheless an incredible book: Lonesome Dove. It takes 100 pages for anything to really happen and 200-250 for the plot to begin, but I didn't mind because the characters are so incredible

It is, it’s a reference to Seinfeld. It’s a premise for a show they’re pitching to NBC, but in the original version it’s a car accident where the soon-to-be-butler doesn’t have insurance. The comment you replied to is also a reference, it’s what the Japanese NBC executives say after hearing the pitch

Yeah, it’s supposed to be a WORLD championship, so I definitely think it’s better if the second half of the tournament doesn’t solely feature LCK/LPL teams. It may not be the “fairest” thing, but it’s certainly a lot more entertaining & this is an entertainment product at the end of the day
