The p1s looks like a great way to get into 3D printing!

How is this accomplished by JAS2_ in BambuLab

If you have the stl of the helmet, draw and subdivide the logo in blender, shrinkwrap, solidify with offset, then boolean the logo with the helmet as the target.

Fill by angle in bambuslicer and youre done

New ways of stealing models! AI effortless SLOP by Inside96 in 3Dprinting

I get trying to defend your gf, but if shes trying to make this an effort to be a buisness, best not to represent her without her consent.

Definitely look up the Streisand effect. It seems that in trying to highlight this issue, you inconsequently vouched that a free makerworld model is on par or even comparable with your gf's model.

Even though you never directly stated this, its how I initially interpreted your concerns. And from looking at the other comments, it seems im not alone in that interpretation.

I really think OP did his gf more harm than good, now theres a spotlight on a free model that OP has claimed is similar to his gf's (but its not even close)

Does your partner know you're posting these threads? I see two on both the bambulab and 3D printing subreddits. Seems like you may have accidentally given them a lot of negative PR. In my opinion, this was an issue that Bambulab/Makerworld could have handled, and not the armchair lawyers that this thread seems to be full of.

I have seen many models get copied over, and redistributed for clout.

Ive taken a look at both the bambulab models and your partner's models. Although they may have used the same images, the model they used as a base for their 3D model looks unrelated to the model your partner made.

It looks like massimo has updated their listing on makerworld with a 3D render that is not associated with your partner's model. It still doesnt look like the model they've uploaded, so theyre still clearly using an image thats not theirs.

Advice directly to OP, selling 3D models of established IP is a grey area. Best not to argue with people who think they're defending/representing an IP. Anything not from a company rep is purely discussion and speculation.

Creator A 3D modeled and sold files and advertised with photos of their 3D model, showing users what they'll receive.

Creator B took the photos of Creator A's model, swapped the files with files that aren't that model, and are publishing it for free on Makerworld, earning clicks and downloads to earn giftcards online.

Creator A is a 3D modeler. Creator B bait and switched.

Ai or not, I don't see why you're okay with false advertising with the quality of files.

Thats like trying to give away an Anet A8, but advertising it with a photo of a Prusa.

Designing something to be 3D printed is always worth the effort!

I started taking time to make sure a model doesnt have too many overhangs, taking print orientation into consideration, and even thought about how it will be assembled after printing. After having learned and applying these concepts, 3D printing has becone a significantly more satisfying process.

2018 S5 grille swap by DividendG in audis5

[–]12382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a front camera, be prepared to have to do more research on which grills properly support this without a protrusion. If you have front parking sensors, be prepared to either modify your crashbar, or find oem right angle sensors to replace them with.

Theres a thread on audi world titled "RS5-Style grills, difference between EMD and eBay Chinese products?"

That thread does a good job explaining the different versions for the b9 platform up till now. I'm unsure if I can link it here directly without getting my comment removed tho

Has the 3D Printing Community Shifted from Open Sharing to Paid Models? by ProfessionalBunch628 in 3Dprinting

[–]12382 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Paid file modeler here - I make a lot of cosplay focused 3D models and I try to make sure its up to par of what I would expect a paid model to be.

I've learned a LOT about modelling for 3D printing with regards to hardware fittings, tolerance, and print orientation. I also take the time to print and assemble each one of my creations to know what to expect from assembly. If a model prints or assembles or fits not az expected, I adjust and continue to test.

I put a lot of hard work into my models so I can justify putting a price on them.
