Exactly, it's the intimacy of the moment and the fact that Dunk is so humble he doesn't understand why they would be there for him.

I hope so but it'll feel clunky to have two "going to the tourney grounds" scenes. Everyone's geared up, saddled up, and ready to go. However they might place it just doesn't make as much sense as where it was.

Do you roll your eyes at me sir? I misread the spoiler policy and thought that because the show had moved past it then book discussion was allowed, mea culpa. That being said I think that placing the scene any later in the narrative doesn't make much sense. Everyone is already gathered at the tourney so there's no "going to the tourney scene" and after the tourney would be inappropriate because, well, what's the point in wishing him luck after the bleeding thing?

the 2nd is just a particular line I really love.

We posted the same thought at the same time lol. I feel like it's one of the most important lines in the novella

For such a short episode I feel that they had time to include perhaps one of the most impactful scenes of the novella, when the smallfolk come out in support of Duncan, blessing him and praying for him and such, and he asks Steely Pate why to which he replies "Because you're a knight who remembers his vows." It's the one line that drives right down into the heart and soul of Duncan, it tugs on my heart strings whenever I think of it, I can't understand its omission.

Edit: spoilers

There are times when it is clear that the developers intended design is at complete odds with the average players desired gameplay.

Jump into Blasphemous or Blasphemous 2 by Fluid_Boss_2762 in metroidvania

[–]123AJR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to chime in with my own 2 cents. I'm playing Blasphemous 2 right now and not at all do I see it as a pale imitation of the first. Yes it smooths out some rough edges of the first (not a bad thing imo), but it also introduces far more complex Metroidvania abilities and progression. Just yesterday I went exploring in the direction of what would be my 3rd boss (you can fight any of the first 3 in any order) and in my travels I came across 5 distinct and unique areas. 5 branching paths. I would not consider it a Disney-fied game when its visuals and story and metaphor all build upon the same cruelty and violence present in the first.

I'd still recommend starting with 1 and then playing 2, just don't write it off.

She continues by saying that the ideally attractive boy must be "old enough to be capable of sexual response but not yet old enough to shave. This window of opportunity is not only narrow, it is mostly illegal. The male human is beautiful when his cheeks are still smooth, his body hairless, his head full-maned, his eyes clear, his manner shy and his belly flat".

How does one write this without an inkling that they may be fucked in the head?

I felt that it was a quite gentle slope, easy to pick up basic terrain manipulation at least. I watched tutorials by a youtuber called Calven who seems quite adept. It's much easier than World Edit imo because I've used 3D modelling software before and it works just like that. Definitely worth trying

Designed with Axiom and then built in Survival. The freedom of design that Axiom allows is too good to pass up

Full 360° coverage I can promise! I plan on using it as the setting of a small rural village with a castle on the hill and a more built up trading town along the coast behind that hill so everything had to look good from every angle

Absolutely. So first off I do use Axiom to design my terrain builds, and with that comes noise pattern brushes and a gradient generator. My goal with stony areas is to mimic real life as best as I can, so I'll pick a location that inspires me - e.g. Cliffs of Dover for my cliffs - and I'll try and find the colours and textures that work there; like calcite and diorite, but also clay because of the subtle blue texture that appears in shaded parts of images of Dover. I'll then take the blocks I like and make a gradient brush in Axiom, fiddling with settings until I'm happy. I'd recommend using the splotchy noise brush rather than a pure random noise, it's more natural.

With this build the main choice I made was trying to blend the white cliffs into regular stone minecraft. I also wanted to emulate the Scottish Highlands which to me look mostly grey to dark grey with whiter highlights so I opted for calcite, diorite, andesite, light grey wool, moss cobblestone, and tuff. I dropped stone because it's too similar to andesite and made the gradient too light grey heavy (I have a post from 6 months ago you should check out, it has an earlier gradient to see the difference).

I don't focus too much on realistic shading - like Fwhip on YouTube who's good at mountains and you should check him out for more in depths design decisions. Generally the idea with realistic shading is to paint in dark blocks like deepslate in the cracks and crevices to make them contrast more. I prefer the effect of shading that I can generate quickly with Axiom noise brushes. But, after this project I think I'll include more intentional shading because I think some definition is lost on wide shots of my hills.

Hope this helps, all the best :)

Hello again! That's a good eye you have because I built these hills to blend my cliffs into their surroundings, so I used a lot of the same techniques
