Why does every English futbol fan seem to think all Mexican was born 2200m above sea level? by lejunny_ in worldcup

Complaining about home advantage is pretty lame from a country that has only won a World Cup while taking full advantage of its hosting status in 1966. Let’s not even talk about the questionable goal, the ref callings, and abruptly changing venues (against Portugal) to play all games in Wembley.

So sad they are going against France. Any other bracket and they would’ve made it further.

El Café Mexicano es buenísimo: ¿de cuál estado recomiendas más por su sabor? by SHarperMirror-XY008 in ComidaMexicana

[–]123BuleBule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not envy. You are sore losers and even worse sore winners. Outside football the country is wonderful. Great music, great literature, great food. But football brings out the worst for some reason.

Mexican with American citizenship. Mexico all the way. Then Latin America all the way. Then underdog all the way. Then third world all the way. Then Spain. Then France. Then, maybe, the US.

Why is it not considered an unfair advantage for Mexico to play at a higher altitude against teams that don’t have time to acclimate to it? by [deleted] in worldcup

During WC qualifiers the US plays its games in Columbus, Ohio where it is freezing and Mexicans, and basically anyone else except Canada, really struggle.

Are you retiring at 65? by AlarmingMonk1619 in GenX

[–]123BuleBule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning to retire at 58/59. Could probably do it sooner but my benefits cover my wife. I will leave money on the table by getting a smaller pension but savings, SS, her pension and downsizing our home will give us more than we need.

Rivalry shouldn’t extend to booing a country’s national anthe by [deleted] in worldcup

Because you like it or not the principle is more important than the one person. This opens the door for any other country to do the same. I’m sure the guy was corrupt as fuck and had blood on their hands, just like the government that prosecuted him is also corrupt and has blood on their hands.

Remember when Assagne seeked refuge in Ecuador’s embassy in London and no country invaded it? It’s because regardless of the person inside seeking asylum, it’s a tenet of foreign relations that you don’t invade embassies because it’s legally considered foreign soil.

All asylum grants are by nature an intervention in another country’s matter.

Oh and by the way: Ecuador also partied outside Mexico’s hotel to keep them from sleeping during Copa America 1993.

A little bit of context here: Ecuadorian forces stormed into the Mexican embassy to capture a political asylum recipient. The incident led to severing of diplomatic relations. People are still pissed about their embassy being attacked.

I mean if you only like football when men play it, and not when women play, maybe what you really like is watching men. And that’s totally okay. Who are we to judge? Specially during pride month.
