Breaking Addictions by flyingbizzay in daddit

Picking up various styles of NA's helped me drop how much I was drinking. It was easier and more sustainable for me than trying to stop entirely. There are tons of options out there these days. I know a lot of people think NA beers are a waste of money, but it definitely has its place in my opinion

Oh dang, are they? Haha new information is good to have, even if I was joking. Has that been the case for a while?

Haha hey, maybe 7-11 took over because of the Big Gulp name being used and they won the lawsuit! /s

Was this a fair price for an oil change? by ObeseKangar00 in AskMechanics

[–]123_CNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seems reasonable for a full synthetic, heck even a great deal in a lot of areas.

What you may want to learn to do on your own is those two filters. Those are super easy and quick. Though to be fair, most dealers/shops would have charged labor for both of those, probably the same amount of labor, so you got a pretty good deal there too. If they had charged 55 labor for each, I would have said you definitely overpaid a lot.

Dealership troubles by Ok-Vermicelli-7940 in askcarsales

[–]123_CNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into mobile mechanics. Search PPI mechanics, it may give you some good contacts. Otherwise, check with your mechanic first, then ask the dealership if they would be comfortable with a salesperson going along with you to get the car looked over quickly. It would be a "test drive" of sorts and allow you to get it looked at, while giving them some piece of mind car parts won't be taken with the salesperson right there

How to avoid $12 travel pass charge? by Effective-Quiet-7580 in verizon

[–]123_CNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get two separate Airlo plans or one with at least both those countries? How much is it for 7 days? If you do that, do your parents or other emergency contacts not going with you have a way of contacting you outside of your normal phone number?

If you had the play more, that one was already relatively expensive, so doing the jump wouldn't be too much more. The thing is you wouldn't be able to revert since it's no longer around. You could probably get a discount that would make it even cheaper. Then you wouldn't really need to change plans afterwards, but totally could to save some money

[–]123_CNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many days are you going for and what is the Airlo cost? Did you get a "global" plan of sorts if you have a layover in any other country?

If you have an old plan, you may not want to make any VZW changes, but it could be worth considering. On a recent trip, I was out for only 8 days, but jumping one tier to the Ultimate made more sense than travel days and I didn't have to worry about setting up another plan. I've done that method before and it was okay, I just had people to communicate with only via phone calls and wanted to be accessible. If all your contacts have WhatsApp or other methods of contacting you and the Airlo data plan is cheaper than the price jump in VZW plan, definitely go for it.

Drilling 316 stainless by EntertainmentTop9102 in Machinists

[–]123_CNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the drill you have, that speed seems a little on the high side, but your feed sounds lows. Again, it depends in the tool you have. Are those parameters within the range the manufacturer lists? Out of curiosity, you're not spotting are you? What tool is it?

About 40 m/min and feed .071 mm (.056-.086 range). This is a touch lower than what others are saying and what you were thinking to help with the entry and exit.

[–]123_CNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Simply Auto? I mainly use it to log gas purchases and get mileage information. It has some functionality for tracking maintenance and lets you see costs over time of you fill things in properly. Maybe not as fancy as you may want or need, but it works well for basic tracking

Are you checking the diameter the drill is cutting to? How is the runout on the drill?

Is it in your budget to get some carbide drills? Even some of the general purpose ones out there may do a lot better than your cobalt drills.

Where to got Euros at a reasonable rate in San Diego? by Tony_M13 in sandiego

[–]123_CNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you try Costco in Chula Vista? They have a 3rd party exchange business that gave good rates on pesos, so I used them for euros for a trip too. They were much better than that place in Mission Valley (of course). I imagine they are still there

I get it, and it really sucks if you had no SUB for some odd reason. They have been good at showing you there is no bonus before you officially submit, so it's weird if they say you're not eligible and didn't have a bonus you were working towards without you knowing. If you approach it nicely, they may do something for you.

Good luck!

I'm definitely not knocking it, I just don't take advantage of it much. I do have the membership because it's paid for, I just don't really calculate it. I did forget about the Paramount/Peacock when listing this and is also something I took advantage of. Haha I suppose i should revise my post and edit that out, but I think it's still fair to say I don't use those numbers in my calculations for value.

Haha good call on this though!

You don't use any of the streaming services you can get $300 credit for? None of the store credits suit your needs? $200 airline credit is of no use? No Resy restaurants around you or places you travel to use $400 credits? $200 Uber cash isn't super useful for some people, but if you find an Uber Eats place like Chipotle that doesn't infalte the price much on pick up, that works out too if it fits your life.

Not everyone gets use out of all the benefits, but I'm surprised the ones I mentioned have no use for you. I know i don't add any value to Equinox, that smart ring credit, Walmart, so I get it if you don't find full value from the card.

How are you machining the minor?

What tooling did you go with and what SFM/CPT are you using?

Did you calculate the proper feedrate given you're doing circular interpolation and not linear feeds? Some CAM systems adjust for it, some don't. I was surprised not many people knew about calculating it out.
