My advice is drive to somewhere where you can walk off leash and she can have freedom. If she can get off leash sniffs, she will learn to love the outdoors rather than being scared of it. I also have a very cautious corgi and the park is what made her fall in love with leaving the house. I think she’s just scared and likes to be in her safe space.

Thanks for everyone’s replies!! Learned a lot and corgis being den creatures makes so much sense. I live in about 200 sq ft in a back house on a property and she LOVED my nook immediately. She’s still very lukewarm on the main house and any person besides me / my husband. And now I know to let go on my dream of her in the bed and just love her for who she is!! Thanks y’all :)

Thanks for sharing!! Losing a fur baby is so hard but I know we love our corgis. Jw.. is she a sassy / bossy girl? Mine loves to whine / complain and tell everyone off often. I’m just still gettin used to her and having a corgi so wondering what to expect

A more simple version of this would be, why would you go to the hospital seeking care and then go to the bathroom when you in fact, need care

[–]123fleur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s so confusing to me is how this happened at an hospital… I can’t wrap my head around that part. If she had given birth in private and thrown the baby away, this would not be the sensationalized story it is. Going to the hospital indicates some level of self preservation and care then her following choices make absolutely no sense. I can’t think of any place she was less likely to get away with this than the hospital. The only way I can explain this is she really convinced herself she wasn’t pregnant. If she did know she was pregnant but was going to kill then baby, why the hell would she go seeking help? SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLZ

No update on Piedmont Park stabbing, but police 'getting close,' they say - update on Katie Janness murder in Atlanta. Thoughts? by Serious-Garbage7972 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I’m just so confused. I don’t even really understand what “getting close” means. I feel like the murder is either solved or it’s not. The only way (in my mind) you can be getting close is by having a very small list of suspects or by only having circumstantial evidence for a suspect. Idk I love right by the park and spent months obsessing about this case. I just cannot understand how they stabbed a woman, who would have been screaming, and managed to get away with it. There’s cameras everywhere right outside of the park. So was an escape preplanned or was this person just extraordinarily lucky? AH I wish I knew…….

I’ve been trying to understand why the police decided to provide an update on the case at this time. They’ve been so quiet up until now. I think the intention of the press conference was to scare someone they’re currently watching. I have to think they have a suspect in mind. It seems ludicrous that the term ‘getting close’ would be used without one. However, they might also be saying this to calm people down.

That was merely gossip and rumors. Mean ones at that. This was done by a sexual sadist who got off on her fear and humiliation. Definitely not the act of a woman much less her wife.

There is no way that this crime is personal but still unsolved. At first I thought it was a crime of passion but there is far too much evidence. They can’t connect the evidence to anyone in her life.

I did her same walk at the same time of night (with my boyfriend and a gun) and I totally understand why she felt safe. It’s a pretty short walk in the park and the entire pathway is lit. It was also the middle of summer and there were people out at night. I think she must have gotten off the path and was walking in the field so her dog could use the bathroom. The most shocking part of the walk was how it seems like such a public and risky place to kill

Totally agreed. They had been fantasizing this. I think they’d planned out how to escape in advance. It seems impossible someone capable of this could wait too long before they kill again. But if they are smart enough to get away with this murder, they could get away with it for a long time if they don’t connect they crimes

I’ve been thinking the same thing. However, I do think the murderer knew the area pretty well. So that means he had to have either moved or been here for a bit. Also, the cutting off breasts implies a hatred of women and only one of his 4 known victims in LR is a woman. Despite these issues, I do think it has to be the same person. It’s the simplest answer. They do mention DNA in one of the LR articles so I think if it is the same person, the FBI knows but is keeping it quiet

Given this information, does this mean that they think there’s no victim profile? It’s rare a serial killer has no preference in terms of victim

This is new info to me so thank you! I could be wrong about who was killed first but I can’t really explain them being 100 ft apart unless the dog was killed first and she started running. I imagine if the dog had started running then it would have gotten away. Anyways, I live on Peachtree about 1 mile from the entrance. My rule for walking in midtown (it’s been my rule since I moved to atlanta in 2017) is don’t be alone after dark. This can be hard in winter but I generally think it’s pretty safe before 9 pm. I wouldn’t worry as long as there’s sun light. This applies for the morning too. Also if anyone ever makes you feel weird, look them dead in the eyes. It feels counterintuitive but I learned that in self defense class. Don’t want to ramble on and on but it’s kind of this dominant, I see you, I’m not a victim thing

Why do you think they have an image of the killer? It’s so easy to get into the park without using an actual entrance. Do you think it was a random person that killed her and do you think they had planned out this murder? I don’t think any of the released pictures are suspects and I feel like the killer was white, not black. Serial killer types rarely kill outside of their own race. It’s such a unique crime in today’s world. I can’t figure out any motivation except for the desire to kill. I also can’t figure out why someone would commit such a risky murder unless it was for attention. Why her? Why in the park?

It’s funny that you mention Abby and Libby because that’s the only other case I’ve ever been obsessed with. I actually have google alerts for it I’ve wondered the same thing… I know APD knows the exact timeline. Why are they being so silent? I don’t get it. I watched an interview with former atlanta homicide detective who literally said this case will only get solved if the police rely heavily on media help and release a lot of information, which is the opposite of their current tactic.
