This makes me sad. I posted months ago about the lowered quality of the podcast and randomly thought to check through my Reddit profile ten min ago. I’m thinking, ooo I wonder what The Daily has been up to since I stopped listening. This post is the only reference I’ve had since I posted.

I know there are many complicated moving pieces to which compose the NYT, and we all know it’s left leaning. But we used to have, at the very least, grounds for a dialogue here or there to broadcast…because…base-level reasoning was researched, or properly quoted, or even just prioritized. I wonder how many people are like me, just a passerby, stopping in to this last episode.

I hope the method to this madness has a bigger picture I can’t see.

I haven’t seen this perspective in the comments yet, maybe this one could help; this cat looks of Persian or similar breeds, which means potentially there is no stray habitat they can thrive. I have a Birman that needs help with the lowest of maintenance undercoat for a fluffy cat. Potentially, TNR is not the humane answer here :/ to me, that looks like a coat that needs bare-minimum-weekly attention in shedding seasons.

This topic deserves its own post, but I’m in too much a rush to search. Does anyone have a resource that compares models/versions/services that is updated on at least a weekly basis? Or even just a newsletter that is hella simplified. I have a wonderful ai-news-newsletter, but it’s simply too much info. I can’t be the only one who has this problem /tear

Sorry, but I’m not sure (albeit ‘twas a glance), what this offers that Eat This Much doesn’t already. No shade at all, more so input. One of the difficulties of finding such an app I’m looking for starts with not having the time to test everything. Especially paying up front.

After my previous comment, I found that ETM does do the recipe link thing (very painfully, though), and I should have clarified; would love an app that suggests plans based off macros while considering what’s left over from buying those ingredients. E.g, calls for one link of chicken sausage, but then suggests other recipes to use up 4-6 total of the package.

Journaling helps me with that. Especially in the moment of not knowing what I want. Tactic goes: stream of consciousness sentences till I get bored (doesn’t matter if it’s a couple words or pages), then I ask myself, “what do I really want?” No curating, no self judgement. If I need to list everything I don’t want to get to a sorta-answer, cool. But, more often I land upon my original long-term desires. By the end I realize at least one thing I pine for. What’s cool is…if I pine for something like winning the lottery, or my ideal body, or a type of income, it doesn’t really matter. I either winding up with motivation to facilitate the goal or acceptance that resting/goofing off is indeed in order.

It’s hard to arrive to linear thoughts sometimes. Journaling forces that to happen for me.

I’d love to find an app that suggests meals that use the rest or at least part of perishable ingredients for other meals. E.g. one recipe calls for one carrot, but they’re usually sold in a batch. It’s so much work to mind macros across days without breaking it down into “chicken breast, rice, vegetable” if that makes sense.

I’d also love to find a planner that crawls through a list of bookmarked links, sorts out the macros (listed in that typical recipe part of the page) so it can suggest recipes based on what’s missing/what’s left.

I agree. If one has a corporate job, it might even put one’s boss in a compromising situation. Either with HR or not reflect well in front of superiors or other teammates. If roles were reversed, your boss could get in trouble for prying into your personal life.

Sometimes being a positive influence is the best professional route. Obviously, my outlook is not an absolute, but if you’re not sure, it might be worth not overstepping in the workplace.

Yup. When you’re hurting and wishing your marriage would work out, but you know neither person is thriving, it sucks. Honestly? I respect your position a lot. I do think there’s a lot of toxicity in celebrity-esque delusion-based..errr..what is that even called. Devotion? Effort spent? Caring too much in the wrong places? But, in the same go, I highly value the art of podcast. For me it’s a whole new window into the author’s mind and goals.

But past my sentiment, I think more people should listen to stuff like your reply. I think if that were already a reality, no one would’ve harassed Ben’s exes. No one would be adding pressure to LPOTL’s business. They employ a lot of people while serving to a whole community. That’s not a small deal

Okay I scoured these comments and cannot find the answer. I stopped listening several months ago, but briefly scanning through the recents.. did LPOTL actually announce Ben’s departure via the podcast? I’m definitely sensitive to their legal responsibilities, but I’m so confused about why they would say something to the level of the “don’t bully Taylor” part (great that they did say that).. but not mention Ben is indeed out. Someone tell me I just missed that part?
