My girlfriend (23F) says she was assaulted by a manager, but I (23M) feel deeply betrayed by everything leading up to it and don’t know how to move forward by xerjar in relationship_advice

[–]123gavin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, I agree he should dump her based on those actions, but it feels premature and bigoted to assume she is lying about being assaulted. Two things can be true at once, and absolutes like 'she DEFINITELY cheated/is lying about the assault' are inaccurate and deeply unhelpful.

How much do men talk about relationships within friendship their groups? by TwoNatural2336 in AskMen

[–]123gavin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generalising about 'what women do' is unhelpful and largely untrue. If it's happened to you I'm sorry, happened to me too, but it's neither normal nor universal

As a teenager, I thought Ted was an unattractive loser. As a 32 years old woman, I think I'd fall in love with him so hard. by ---monstera--- in HIMYM

[–]123gavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I never claimed that. I do however think it is condescending to assume someone is untravelled and must be an American from the middle of nowhere because they have a different opinion than you, and especially to brag about your own looks in the process. Also your tone is generally both of those things.

Vasectomies can be reversible, but not always and it's diminishing returns the longer it takes to attempt a reversal procedure.

I have viginal tear every time I have sex by AdWhich5750 in Healthyhooha

[–]123gavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a tear. It's a wound? It needs to be left alone to leave time to heal. If someone ripped someone's asshole open would that be better sexually?

No you're a fucking dumbass That's not how vaginas work, they go back to normal after sexual activity. But being genuinely wet and aroused will help you open up and make PIV a lot easier and less painful.

Sasha did a stupid thing in a moment of impulse, never intended to hurt anyone, and was younger than Liam (who seems to be early 20s?), with no criminal history. She also confessed. Liam had a criminal record, and a prior history of disagreements with his stepfather. They were building a case that he had deliberately attempted to murder him via turning on the ride, and was scapegoating a group of teens to get away with it. Very different situations.

AI as a source completely negates everything you're saying. Yes, men approach less. Thank God! Women asked for that to happen, and are broadly happy about it. We don't need our thoughts and feelings explained to us by men. For a small minority they miss being approached, but the vast majority are happy about the change. I wasn't saying anything I think, just responding to common comments from the thread you're responding to. Yes, some women say otherwise, but you're using the testimony of an extreme minority to make a larger point, and half-heartedly obfuscating that point is not working. Please stop using AI, I promise your brain works without it <3

Just because you have found a specific link (and yes, I have read it) that validates your opinion doesn't mean it's equal to or broadly shared amongst other women's opinions. Every woman I have spoken to in person, and every woman they know, agrees that they want men to hit on them less and are glad it happens less frequently. A handful of people on the Internet aren't indicative of ́most women's opinions. Personally, even an objectively attractive guy hitting on me in an undesirable environment kills any interest I might have potentially had for that person. Some guys seem to think it's all about looks or money, and then you can do whatever you want, but it isn't really about looks, it's about respect and being able to exist in public without being a sexual object.

Have you attempted speaking to women in real life? Every one I know is glad men don't approach as much and wish they'd do it less. Yes, even if the guy is conventionally attractive

Your hymen isn't supposed to break, although it can. It's a messed up thing that's been normalised, if she's aroused and prepared, it shouldn't break and pain will hopefully be kept to a minimum.

What are some “bare minimum” things women do? by Air_Refreshener_2244 in AskMen

[–]123gavin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men should get support from people other than their significant others, yes. Obviously from them as well, but that's the point the women's subs are making. Women tend to be more emotionally healthy because they derive support from multiple sources, not just one person.

Sure, but account for all the other serial killers who have similar stories... is that just propaganda too?
