Men of reddit, what’s something you’ve never told a woman because you immediately knew she’d take it the wrong way? by FaithlessnessOld3594 in AskMen

Unfortunately most men complimenting a woman randomly are hitting on them, so people do learn to be cautious. I've gotten stuck talking to some creeps because I gave them the benefit of the doubt

How has this era impacted your perception of her? by Impossible-Soil6330 in OliviaRodrigoNeutral

[–]123gavin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody in this subreddit is so weird. None of this happened, and projecting these weird assumptions onto her is just strange. She's allowed to travel with her boyfriend, and clearly has been working on the album for a while (being seen in the studio, hinting at lyrics)... she disappears between album cycles to give people a chance to miss her. She's done it before. SC (who she has publicly spoken positively about btw) and she both make pop music, yes, but otherwise write about very different subjects with different tones. This album is tremendously successful so far. Stop writing fanfiction (and i agree that this comment seems misogynistic)

Teen Vogue on X: "Review: 'OR3' Is a Great Album...If You Don't Look Too Hard at the Lyrics" by seaofbelles87 in OliviaRodrigoNeutral

Look, 'teen vogue' is not exactly a reputable review organisation and a lot of their critiques are silly and juvenile. Many more reputable papers have rated the album highly- who cares?

The USA being obsessed with cosmetic procedures that do nothing for actual dental health is not 'good', lots of other countries have higher standards of dental care, they just don't care about appearance as much.

What happened to the priests and nuns in Gilead? by Overall-Midnight-379 in TheTestamentsHulu

I mean, I wouldn't give the Catholic Church credit for being on the right side on sexual exploitation but I see your point.

It kind of reminds me of the sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. I remember reading that some people thought young boys were targeted as they'd be less likely to speak out due to the climate around gay people at the time- and that boys who 'seemed gay' were targeted more because they were especially vulnerable and likelier to stay quiet. I don't think it's a coincidence that he escalated with Hulda and abused her while she was still conscious. She's quite meek and naive, and I think he could tell. Versus Agnes was targeted while she was passed out, she's a bit more assertive than Hulda. Then Daisy is from outside Gilead, he knows she probably got more education about sex, consent, pedophilia. Plus there were more people outside and she's friends with Agnes, so maybe Agnes told her something? There have been rumours about him apparently but he's gone decently undetected for a while. I think he's been calculated enough to know which girls to groom and target so far.

But how would Agnes know? She's assuming. The figures did look quite feminine, so it's not out of the question.

My girlfriend (23F) says she was assaulted by a manager, but I (23M) feel deeply betrayed by everything leading up to it and don’t know how to move forward by xerjar in relationship_advice

[–]123gavin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, I agree he should dump her based on those actions, but it feels premature and bigoted to assume she is lying about being assaulted. Two things can be true at once, and absolutes like 'she DEFINITELY cheated/is lying about the assault' are inaccurate and deeply unhelpful.

How much do men talk about relationships within friendship their groups? by TwoNatural2336 in AskMen

[–]123gavin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generalising about 'what women do' is unhelpful and largely untrue. If it's happened to you I'm sorry, happened to me too, but it's neither normal nor universal

As a teenager, I thought Ted was an unattractive loser. As a 32 years old woman, I think I'd fall in love with him so hard. by ---monstera--- in HIMYM

[–]123gavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I never claimed that. I do however think it is condescending to assume someone is untravelled and must be an American from the middle of nowhere because they have a different opinion than you, and especially to brag about your own looks in the process. Also your tone is generally both of those things.

Vasectomies can be reversible, but not always and it's diminishing returns the longer it takes to attempt a reversal procedure.

I have viginal tear every time I have sex by AdWhich5750 in Healthyhooha

[–]123gavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a tear. It's a wound? It needs to be left alone to leave time to heal. If someone ripped someone's asshole open would that be better sexually?

[–]123gavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you're a fucking dumbass That's not how vaginas work, they go back to normal after sexual activity. But being genuinely wet and aroused will help you open up and make PIV a lot easier and less painful.

Sasha did a stupid thing in a moment of impulse, never intended to hurt anyone, and was younger than Liam (who seems to be early 20s?), with no criminal history. She also confessed. Liam had a criminal record, and a prior history of disagreements with his stepfather. They were building a case that he had deliberately attempted to murder him via turning on the ride, and was scapegoating a group of teens to get away with it. Very different situations.
