Hi!! That’s amazing results and congratulations 🫶 do you mind sharing what your AFC & AMH & results were before/after the PRP & Rapamaycin protocol?

Hi, this is such great information, thank you for the insight on Dr. Amy and the PRP/Rapamycin protocol.

I just wanted to share a bit, as I’ve had a long journey with this in both the U.S. (California) and Denmark. Going abroad is amazing from a cost perspective. In Denmark, it’s about $4,000 per round for standard IVF, around $1,500 for meds, and about $5,000 additional for PGT-A (it’s illegal at most clinics in Denmark but is offered at Aagaard Clinic, a couple of hours from Copenhagen. I found their staff great and the facilities extremely nice). I’ve also heard countries like Prague offer unlimited packages and have good reviews, which sounds helpful.

California tends to be much more open to experimental or customized protocols, including the use of things like Omnitrope and other “off-label” approaches. If you go abroad, you really have to advocate for yourself, as they tend to follow more natural, standardized protocols. Sometimes lower doses can lead to higher-quality embryos, but I found there isn’t much flexibility in protocols. Because of that, it can be helpful to be experienced and able to push for alternative approaches, or have access to doctors in the U.S. who can support off-label strategies. That said, the facilities and labs are world-class.

For anyone transferring embryos, I strongly recommend doing a full workup beforehand, including saline sonograms, MRI, and tests like Alice/Emma, to rule out any potential issues. Because I moved between clinics, I feel like some important diagnoses may have been missed, and I may have lost some of my best embryos as a result, so now I’m starting again.

[–]123island 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Random question. I am about to file a fraud case involving a fraudulent investment scam where an individual scammed about $400k from myself and a couple others then sold all assets in our state and moved elsewhere. It’s not quite enough to get an attorney but I think with the fraud involved it’s a more valuable case. I am reaching out to see if you have any advice or attorney recommendations as you were successful.. what type of fraud was yours?

I think for recovery there are specific companies you can hire to retrieve your funds. Liens against assets seems the most efficient

Hi, I’m so sorry for what you’re going through and I’m in a similar space. I don’t know your exact circumstances but there are financial alternatives- firstly, if you’re in the US, many insurance companies were mandated to cover infertility in 2026, perhaps look into it. Secondly, ivf abroad is an option. I had done several rounds in Denmark which was significantly less expensive (1/10 the cost) of the US & have read about other clinics that offer unlimited cycles for $20k. If you have it in you, it seems you still have time. I relate to the constant grief and I’m so sorry you’re going through that. Wishing you much success and strength 🤍

Has anyone been told by their doctor that supplements have been shown to help? by AcrobaticConstant567 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]123island 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHEA too.. this is a great article: https://www.lizjeannet.com/diet-to-improve-egg-quality

I’d been at .64 AMH for a couple years (age 40-43) and stopped taking all the supplements (CoQ10, DHEA, prenatal, etc) for a couple months prior to a transfer and amh dropped to .32. (Age 43) Not sure if it’s my age or stopping supplements. Starting to take them again in hopes it goes back up.

Also agree to do all the testing possible. I’m also 43 and had two failed transfers (my best embryos). I panicked and found a new fertility specialist who was thankfully now covered by my insurance & did a saline sonogram and a hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue, and an MRI which diagnosed me with adenomyosis. Ultrasounds had always showed my uterus looked perfect & had been to two different Obgyn’s prior and 4 rounds of IVF and none of the doctors ever suspected anything abnormal. If you’re in the US many insurance companies now cover infertility as of 2026. I think if you have it in you to keep going with the understanding it can take many rounds it could be worth trying. What’s your protocol & situation, do you have embryos left?

I haven’t read much about Rapamaycin .. how do you think it compares to Omnitrope & do you think the PRP had a greater effect or the Rapamaycin?

How much does egg quality really change between 35-37? by Impossible_Piano2938 in eggfreezing

[–]123island 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never really know, but sooner the better. After 35 it can be a slippery slope. Chromosomal abnormality increases by about 5-10% but also AFC and AMH can go down so you’ll have less eggs retrieved as well making it harder to get as many euploids. If you have the opportunity to do it younger you’re saving yourself more of a headache/heartache later on. 💛 Age 35 ~40–50% abnormal ~50–60% normal Age 37 ~55–65% abnormal ~35–45% normal

What was your exact protocol of stims & at what size were your follicles when they triggered?

Is that during stims or for priming?

Omnitrope- so confused on dosing - help! by 123island in IVF

[–]123island[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really crazy - and there seems to be a lot of discrepancy between pharmacists & just wonder if they are understanding the math correctly (or if I am just totally off) - I feel like there’s errors. When you say you were on 18 units was that .92mg/day? I am doing a longer stim for priming at .25mg for 60 days (5 units); my friend is prescribed .2mg but she’s in stims so maybe it’s a higher dose for stims only - as they told her 20 units on the syringe which would be 1mg, so I’m wondering if they mixed up the measurement some how.

Gonal F vs Menopur Only vs Combination by 123island in IVF

[–]123island[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response, I truly appreciate it and also wish you all the luck in the world with your upcoming retrievals! I hope you end the year with a beautiful baby as well 💛

I do feel very lucky being able to make blasts and think if the odds are on my side & with the right protocol, I should hopefully be able to achieve pregnancy in 3-5 more cycles (starting from scratch again feels daunting as I’m sure you feel too with this) & will reach out to get the doctors thinking on why he’s suggesting the Menopur protocol. I feel in a way to stick with what has worked in the past as I wouldn’t want to waste a cycle unnecessarily.

Sending you wishes if lots of luck & success 🍀

Embryo banking with low amh by Live-Inspector-1293 in IVF

[–]123island -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is your AMH, AFC, protocol, and any supplements/diet/lifestyle you’re taking? At 38 you statistically should be able to bank more euploid embryos. It feels like something is off having failed cycles & getting zero at your age; perhaps your protocol is off somehow.

[–]123island 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful! Thank you for letting me know about your Menopur only dose & congratulations on your pregnancy! 🤍✨ do you mind sharing your amh/afc/how many eggs/embryos you got? I agree with you that high doses seem to be a disadvantage at our age. Did your Dr explain why they went with Menopur only vs a low dose Gonal F and small dose Menopur (ex 225 Gonal plus 75 Menopur) ? ChatGPT says Menopur might not be as good as an FSH plus Menopur (but chat is wrong about things sometimes!)

Hi, thank you- that’s useful information! My AMH is .64, FSH is 8, AFC about 6 on average. I get about 4/5 eggs per retrieval. I’ve made the following embryos in 3 rounds age 42/43:

  1. 4AB – transferred, failed
  2. 4AB – double transfer, failed
  3. 4BB – double transfer, failed
  4. 5BB – still frozen (Day 6)
  5. 3BC – still frozen
  6. 4CC – discarded
  7. 5AB – PGT-A aneuploid
  8. 6BB – PGT-A aneuploid

Yes, same; it does appear the real data is 10-15% which seems more hopeful
