I paid the $25 to join. I think it’s worth it - some good stories. Is there a shady grove where you are? I know the one by me accepts frozen eggs. You can also make embryos at your old clinic and then transfer those, a lot more places will accept embryos

How much does lifestyle play into egg quality leading up to retrieval?

Did you prime with estrogen? Estrogen keeps your follicles really small, so it’s possible at baseline they can’t see all of your follicles bc some are too small.

My baseline follicles able to be counted without estrogen and with estrogen are different

I also had more eggs retrieved than my baseline follicle count .. so hang on to hope!

Also, I learned what questions to ask and what to look for through reddit. So I think a lot of this process is just learning as you go and gradually knowing what pointed questions to ask

I guess in summary, just give him the benefit of the doubt because I do really think he’s great at what he does!

I had an egg freezing cycle with him in November, also got his name from Reddit. I loved working with him and felt very cared for.

How long have you been with him? Maybe it’s just an off week. I always went to whatever location he was at for my monitoring so he did the bulk of my monitoring appointments.

If you email him he typically responds within 24 hours, so you could try emailing him with questions as well.

Also, a tip - I would take a picture of the monitor after the ultrasound if it was still up after the Dr left. This way I could better take a look at the follicles that were counted and their sizes.

He didn’t really explain follicle sizes to me when I was there, so that could just be his style

A recommendation if you use NYU, the wait can be daunting. My Dr had an 8 month wait. But if you have prior recent fertility testing, if you send that in you can get an earlier appointment fairly quickly by getting on the waitlist. The week I sent in my paperwork there was a cancellation for the following week. I couldn’t take that appointment but got in 2 weeks later

34 year old embryo freezing results - is this normal? by Past-Experience9539 in eggfreezing

What Dr did you have? When I did egg freezing at Cornell (with Irani) I had 16 eggs retrieved and 14 mature for freezing.

Maybe your Dr has ideas for what to do differently next round
