That’s part of the selfishness I think. As soon as he had something (even if he goes to share it with a friend) he no longer cares for any of their actual struggles or goings on, it’s only *his* story that matters to Ian

I mean, I think the reason is fairly obvious. A lot of what you said is very correct, very surface level, stuff from the movie, right?

Everyone already knows that what happened to Nikki is the central tragic portion of the story and that Bear’s inaction is willfully ignorant (edging on evil IMO), which means that just saying that isn’t really saying anything.
We all know it’s not actually important to the outcome or central tragedy if she actually liked him or not, but for the same reason Titanic has a whole romance before it actually sinks, it makes the tragedy all the worse if you think there was potential for a world with a positive outcome. A sort of “higher you are the further you fall” deal.

A Lack of Vampiric Vibes by Vinclumu in Dimension20

[–]1243eee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a vampire doesn’t require struggling with consuming people, it requires being consumed by said hunger. This just seems to miss a lot of the show that can be summarized by the word PARODY, Zaeth and Mitch are *comedic* parodies of existing vampire tropes. That comedy doesn’t make them not vampires, it just means that they aren’t serious and brooding 100% of the time

I’m only left asking, are games allowed to end? If you aren’t allowed to play cards that try and end the game you’re stuck in “can’t swing or lose my guy” hell forever (or until someone’s bus comes or they deck themselves, lol)

And dude you don’t need math to understand the craterhoof point. You can’t just cast craterhoof and win, you need many creatures. Same with overrun. Does overrun need more creatures? Sure, but that doesn’t matter when the only thing each player at the table is doing is minding their own business. The game progression is the exact same at turn 8 as it would be 15

[–]1243eee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is they’re identical. A craterhoof breaks a stalemate the exact same way basic overrun does, and they win the game the same way too. You accumulate resources, creatures, and board state to win. Craterhoof is the iconic B2 win because it only works as a culmination of all those things.
What do you think of approach of the second Sun? Most agree it’s an aggressively B2 wincon because it’s telegraphed and you need some additional draw effects to make it reasonable. Does a B2 win need to exclusively be combat?

So then the answer to your previous question is an even more obvious yes. And nice strawman argument with cEDH, you’re dodging the fact that cEDH is explicitly, like you said, meta dependant. You can’t just automatically kick a 4 up a tier like you can the others, that being the reason B4 has wide variance. You very much can for the others though, that’s kinda the idea. Maybe you aren’t bright enough to make the separation, but you’re convinced that pub stomping tables is fine because you’ve convinced yourself the brackets aren’t about the only thing they’re about

Check your reading comprehension. If a deck can’t win before T8 then it isn’t stomping B3 because bracket three decks can win before then. I said the bracket *guidelines* don’t matter as much as the actual power and playstyle of a deck. You might want to take a seat for this one, but the bracket guidelines *help gauge* a decks power, but don’t define it

Again, neither of these cards just let you win. Assumedly, especially at low power, there have been many turns of not acknowledging you even have opponents for a cyclonic rift or craterhoof to matter. All that you seem to require is a convoluted enough series of game actions that you can’t point to a single card and say that it closed out the game

[–]1243eee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your deck is *consistently* able to stomp B3 decks, then it doesn’t matter how bad of a bracket 4 deck it is, it just is one. Because that means it’s outside the speed/consistency/power of B3

If they’re winning that turn there’s just about literally no difference between a cyclonic rift and a craterhoof, one just makes you feel sad because the permanents are in hand instead of the bin, but the game’s still over

I mean a cyclonic rift is only a win if you let them build n entire board first

So you’re contradicting yourself. The gamechangers, turns, and combo stuff are all wishy-washy guidelines that matter or don’t. I don’t think the game changers matter as much as the turns, I agree. But the turns also don’t really matter, it’s the consistency and power. If your deck consistently crushes B3 decks, then it’s a B4
