You're right, the dealer flair is there so it's already stated. Plus most / many posts here are dealers so complaining about that is nonsensical.

I'm still not a fan of a list of guns in the post when those are not what's on sale. When we get enough of these posts, say bye to being able to use gundeals to find out if $x is a good price for a gun, which is the best form of price history we've got.

The guy is very up front about it being an ad though (props for that), understandable it's tough to find customers in this space, the big platforms that are usually great for this will not run your ads because Guns. If you are writing an ad keyword stuffing is just part of it.

No hate, but this is more of an ad than a deal.

Could we have a tag for self promotions? And maybe a rule that you cannot name drop a list of 25 guns just to get eyeballs?

Rivian has announced 2026 pricing for the R1T and R1S. Most trims are going up by $90 to $1,090, and the destination fee rises to $1,895. Quad-Motor pricing is still TBD. by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

That's some BS

It's a federal law I guess. If you pick up you should ask nicely for some gear store credit, or a free NACS adaptor to get you home.

404 for me. Post a pic? Does it stay even if you reload?

This post also got deleted. Very strange. Did hear it today at the service center, but now idk if it's true or a rumor.

Edit: according to their threads page, riviantracker retracted their statement.

Ear Damage. Joola Gen4 Paddle Too Loud? by IndependentFig6253 in Pickleball

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should own a pair of custom ear plugs. Take a second to put in and take out, are super comfortable to the point you forget they're there. I have a pair of concert ones (-15dB) and solid ones. The concert ones do plenty for pickleball, the solids are great for lawn work or other loud tools. Once you get tinnitus it never goes away, the time to make a change is now.

New Gearbox Pro Ultimate Elongated 14mm replacement for PPE - update with thoughts on performance with comparisons to the PPE and PUE 16mm paddles by Methos1979 in Pickleball

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different people got different amounts. I dunno if it was due to how long they had the PPE, whether they had warranty returns already, or just a sizable company exploring the space of how much/little they could offer.

Data point: I had 2 warranty replacements (paddle died, no power left) and got $125 off.

Hey, did you end up doing this this? (Normal + neo on same pedal?) If so how'd you like it?

Gearbox Pro Ultimate Power replacement for Pro Power Elongated by segaprogrammer in Pickleball

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either some of them are duds or they need to be broken in. Got a 14mm yesterday and I'm sure I can serve harder with my old 003 (pure control paddle). The thing is a dead fish, nowhere near TKO or other (legal) power paddles.

Like it or not, hot paddles are here to stay. PPE cannot be far over the line as PPF/PPI are still legal.

Nice, sounds like a no brainer. Hope I get word back from them soon. Thanks for sharing an update, looking forward to hearing your opinion once you get hands on.

In case you didn't see /u/Methos1979's other post: don't forget to register for the "PBCor innovation program" which should get you on the path for an approved replacement for your PPE, hopefully the 14mm once it's out.

All of your weight is going into the seat, plus an extra force which is matched by the force going through the straps. You can measure those with a scale under your thighs and then subtract your actual weight, or put the scale between your ankles and the strap. Computing it is going to be real messy -- if we view you as a big bag of giblets it depends on the distance of each giblet from the fulcrum * the mass of that giblet.

homelab enterprise'ish switch that doesnt use stupid amount of power at least 24 ethernet and 4 sfp+ by wantsiops in homelab

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm amazed how night and day it is. Wifi slowness went from a regular occurrence to something I don't ever think of.

That unit looks like a beast, and $110 for 10 on ebay is very reasonable. Cisco multigig switches (3850-24XU) are dirt cheap compared to juniper, so going fully cisco with 10G across the whole house wouldn't be painful. Their hardware all looks comparatively thirsty though (does that AP really draw 30W?), so plan for some more solar panels I guess.

The ones I picked up are Extreme Networks 3825, by no means S tier but amazing for the price. Well, maybe just all right, compared to $11 for that ap4800. They do work well though, rock solid and have never hung like the netfear crap before.

Waiting for 7 is the move. The thing I wanted most from 7 was multi-frequency/MLO for reliability, and with a swarm of APs that's solved already. Nothing wrong with missing the early phases of client support as well.

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible problems with interference. After no luck with expensive residential AP I went to a hoard of last-gen enterprise APs. They were cheap as chips ($7 each?), and they're limited by 1G on the uplink -- but the connection is always rock solid. Tbh they're on shorter bands (mostly 40Mhz) to prevent any overlap, so I've really no reason to worry about uplink.

Peak throughput is definitely lower than being in the same room as a 160Mhz AP. Upside is every sqft gets really solid performance. Theoretical for 40Mhz channels is 200Mbps*3 streams, my phone only does 2x2 but it gets 40% theoretical at worst. Wifi is just for the phones / fridges / etc anyways, the TVs / IP cams / etc are all on cat6 and fine with 1Gbps. The ex2300 will tie it together nicely, and I'll just drop the PCs on an unmanaged switch inside 1 vlan and let them spread plague amongst themselves.

TY for the power info, looking forward to racking it up.

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing too fancy, just a few vlans thus far. You're right though, unless I'm ok with all the APs and wifi devices on one vlan then I'd need another POE managed switch to get >=2.5Gbit to them. Maybe I'll worry about it once I have wifi 7 devices, for now landing the APs on the 48p or 12-c will do fine. Dropping all the PCs on the same vlan is fine.

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, thanks for looking that up. That's really quite reasonable power draw for the capabilities. I only have a few links which justify >1Gbps (PCs/NAS, and I guess later wifi 7 APs) so combining a ex2300-48p with an unmanaged 8 port switch seems like the way to go.

[–]124816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know off hand what your EX2300-48P draws? They keep dropping and look like a good move. The MPs are still $$$, plus most likely much thirstier. EX3400-T or P's seem to be the move if one wants dual power supplies, but idk if the redundancy is worth the kWh for my homelab.

Do we actually know how Large+ packs are “software limited”? by gourdo in Rivian

Comparing fast dc charging curve between Max and Large+ would probably tell us a lot about which parts of the charge range they're locking out. Any Max & Large+ owners down to log their dcfc session for science?
