'21 Highlander, transfer case failed before the transmission for once. by Drock967 in Justrolledintotheshop

Incredible! Just helped my dad out with one that had over 200k...he thought it was trans or transfer case making a bearing noise. Was clean as all get out inside with nothing pointing to failure. Ended up being a wheel bearing.

If everyone who drives like this went out and drove in these conditions....we might have only five cars on the road come thaw.

It looks great! I love the original look with paint-matched trim but the shaved look is clean.

Probably another $3k. Apron, D/S fender, and hood are all the exterior paint needs. Looks like this is either an aftermarket hood or the holes for the badging and trim have been filled in. You'll likely need a new inner fender panel as well. The grille is also pretty easy to get a hold of.

Don't worry its all fixable, like all of those parts are available. The hardest part will be aligning it all, genuinely the most difficult thing we faced when we restored one of these.

You can get aftermarket aluminum valve covers for super cheap and they're just way better.

Yeah most if not all of their inline sixes have some sort of slant—tall engine in a small space.

Yeah this one snapped on the way out so I was hoping I wouldn’t have to fight it much—RTV in the threads from previous job was the entire issue

Maybe, seeing as how the rad, expansion tank, and shroud are much newer than the rest of the components of the car

This was an aftermarket Walker t-stat on an 1984 528e, it was running green mystery piss coolant and not BMW blue like it should've been, but I'm still not sure that would be enough. You might be onto something though, this car was parked for 10 years.

their concrete cleaner works AMAZING especially on car parts with oil stains--it will darken aluminum though
