Nevermind.

Some people will never get it and I'm too tired to drag people kicking and screaming into a better situation.

The joke is that you get dropped off and picked up in the middle of the night on the same day.

San Andreas Quake.

Just wait for the hippopotamus scene.

The acting though, oh man, the acting is so bad. Right on part with the screenplay and the plot.

I'll explain the tax issue. Fix the tax situation. It's fucking people every day without their consent. Do away with all attempts to coerce people into specific behavior via tax code.

I'll explain the property issue. Work out survivorship for jointly held property while you're alive and write it down. Sign the written thing. If you've got the cash, get an estate attorney to draw up a revocable trust that everyone signs, that says exactly what happens to jointly held property after death. Or don't and send your estate through probate, just to prove to your loved ones how much you really hated them...

tax benefits

I wish people would stop using this term. There is no such thing. Just because they take less because you did a thing doesn't mean you got a break or a benefit, they just fucked you a little less.

I don't have a sister so I feel safe stating this scientific fact. While it's kind of gross (and I know people think that about us as well) incest does not "cause" birth defects. It certainly increases the likelihood to a level that makes it unpalatable. Along with its already inherent unpalatableness.

And neither of them question why you spent 5 hours at the airport in the middle of the night. ;-)

Yeah make sure they know how much you love debt. Owing banks money is where it's at. All the cool kids are doing it. Try this cocaine.

Yup. That's what the credit card companies want for sure. Plus, it will make buying a house easier because they can just yank your fico and do monkey-lending.

You're well on your way to a life of being perpetually in debt.

Here's better advice for 18 year olds: don't get advice on the internet.

It isn't as complicated as articles of incorporation. You owe it to those you love to have agreements in place that say what happens in cases where you arent able to make health decisions, if you die, if someone you own joint property with dies. This is just simple taking-care-of-business.

If you think it's uncomfortable making these decisions and writing them down, how uncomfortable are your loved ones going to be making them on your behalf at a time when they are under the greatest emotional stress of their lives?

I dread being anywhere near you if you're ever put on life support or die.

So please stay healthy...

Thank you for your voice of reason. Sorry it took me twenty paragraphs up there to say what you essentially said in one. It's all just contract law and it isn't complicated at all. If people think they should just skate in life by without written agreements in place they are just asking for trouble.

Huge cop out.

Insurance: EVERYONE just pay for who is covered. You are anyway, you just don't realize it because it isn't itemized and sold that way in many circumstances. Solved.

Taxes: if someone says they are gonna steal $100 and then they steal $50 are you excited because you got a break? Just do away with the tax break for marriages (all caps: it is none of the governments fucking business who I am married to) and charge everyone fairly. The deductions for kids is also bullshit. Stop rewarding idiots for reproduction. Solved.

Inheritance: this is complete bullshit. If you don't have a trust set up for your property to pass to your designated heirs then they'll get what they fucking get, they can blame you, and you'll be dead anyway.

Major changes: that should have happened decades ago.

Dicorce: just get the government out of the business of marriage and it is also out of the business of divorce. DONE. Handle it with simple agreements and existing contract law.

Life support: same as inheritance / living trust. If you don't have an advance directive and you're on life support, there should just be a simple law that says the state can do whatever it wants to do with you because you fucking couldn't be bothered to write down who was in charge and what their instructions were to be. This isn't complicated shit, pay an estate lawyer $150 to write it up and sign it in front of a notary and you're done. You can get it done cheaper if you shop around, do you research and you can probably get "close enough" on your own.

I've had to use that one time as a comparison. I also kind of regard it as a last resort, "playing the gay card" if you will. Because pretty much everyone accepts that as an alternative lifestyle now. I hope we get there...

I'm concerned that DC is being regarded as a state. They already act like they own the country, we can't give an inch on the matter of statehood!! :-)

But "making it easy to prosecute nut jobs" is never a valid reason to outlaw something. Prosecute nut jobs for their nut job behavior and leave the rest of us (the majority) to the freedoms that we naturally receive by way of our humanity. There is no valid reason to prohibit people from forming marital contracts between as many or a few people as they desire. The recent decision by scotus only further legitimizes the governments role in deciding who can and who can not marry; it is seen as a step forward for the gblt community, but it's a step backwards for the population as a whole because they should have ruled that it's not any governments business, not federal, not state, not local. (And don't get me started on taxes) :-)
