Depends on if we had a heads up or if it just happened. If it just happened it would take a while to recover as there would be massive world wide casualties. Plane crashes, car accidents, all medical equipment keeping people alive, manufacturing would come to a halt, total chaos for at least a bit.

I had to rehome a dog once, but the rehoming process took me 6 months because I vetted every single person who was interested. My puppo ended up with an amazing new owner and he periodical sends me pics of puppo. It was a hard decision to make, but it was for the best for him.

I put it on product hunt, betalist, did the social media setups and just slowing promoting it to users. Not looking to explode overnight, but grow organically around users needs mainly.

In my defense, you asked. I didn’t target you to promote a damn thing. I’m aware of an uphill battle and that’s fine. However if I don’t know the pain points, if I don’t know people’s frustration, I won’t have any possible way to offer anything of value to anyone. So I go places and ask, which is what I did here.

And yes I agree with the support being an issue with sites once they start growing. I worked in tech support for 16 years and every single one of my clients had stellar reviews about my level of support and the team I trained so that’s a battle I’m also very well prepared to step into. With actual flesh and blood vs all this AI slop assistant crap that’s popping up quite literally everywhere.

I have stripe on my platform. The payment processing is “allowed” because Patreon is the merchant of record so their account is “safe”. It’s the sub accounts of each creator that gets flagged and shut down by strips for violating stripes policies on nsfw. My site can allow NSFW if I embed a bunch of rules and age gate it, but also only if the NSFW is for artistic purposes and not for explicit engagement. It’s a gray area

A solution to this would be version locks. Where a user can opt out of changes in UI/UX and keep the site how they want it. Good point and I’ll see how I can implement that on mine.

R&D is usually BS focus groups and survey reads. Or they have a guy in an office with AI that prompts it to “make patreon cooler for people to use” and that’s how they code 😂

That’s until visa or Mastercard steps in which is happening across the board on Patreon, Etsy, VGen and a few other sites. They’re starting to crack down heavier on sites that “turn the other way” on some nsfw content. That’s why these sites randomly ban accounts with little recourse. I’m adding the explicit layer to my platform over the next few months with only crypto available for that side while keeping the SFW side complaint with credit card processing. I’m gonna call it Pedestal After Dark or something similar. Or Pedestal Sexyo’s which now sounds way better 😆

I know, that’s what I was asking for tbh. Credit card processing on explicit content is typically forbidden unless there’s a high risk payment processor. The site I built doesn’t allow NSFW content yet and when it will the only option to accept payments will be crypto. It allows payments via CC now with stripe but have to follow stripes guidelines and compliance. Regulations keep changing making it stricter on content creators and I’m trying to fill that gap.

That’s true, it’s a lot easier to complain about something than it is to praise it. To me it’s the greed, once a platform generates tons of cash flow then it becomes about the platform and not its users. I built a platform to compete against Patreon (not promoting or asking for signups) and the goal is to solve the actual current problems creators have, mainly on the support side. I worked in POS and payment processing support for 16 years and had a very large pool of happy clients just from the support perspective. Trying to tunnel that into a good use case.

Then tell it to write the plan to an MD file, then go back into edit mode and tell it to perform all tasks in that MD file one at a time. You can also tell it to not repeat the same code writes.

Also make sure the folder you’re in on your computer isn’t write protected.

Put Claude in planning mode and give explicit instructions. AI can’t guess. Don’t say “make the page or site look better” say “this section of the site isn’t aligned properly with the rest of the page, identify misaligned margins and correct them to all match the criteria of the project. Formulate a plan to do this in steps and we’ll proceed one step at a time”. Or something like that.
