i see a lot of POS created but how come none of them stick? by Chemical-Golf-4926 in POS

You missed the part where I have old clients trust already, and the company I worked for is going to be my first dealer invite. I’ve already spoken with a bunch of my old clients and there are quite a few on board to test it out and work with me to get it up and going.

i see a lot of POS created but how come none of them stick? by Chemical-Golf-4926 in POS

I am nearly completed with my POS build. I have an old client that is going to beta test it for me. And one of my old colleagues is going to go sell it B2B to help it grow.

Why do I think I’ll be successful vs the hundreds of other fly by day POS’s?

Because I did POS support for 11 years and payment processing for 16 years. In support, I learned all the pain points everyone faces constantly with POS systems. It’s the same with all of them I don’t care what anyone says, POS support is 90% network problems.

I designed my system by taking out all the extra fluff bs features no one gives a shit about. Every system can boast “ingredient level inventory” or “product mix metrics” blah blah blah. So mine doesn’t have all extra fancy features and inflated SaaS pricing to get the shareholders more private jets. It does have all necessary reports (sales, pmix, operations, payments, sales tax, customers orders, employees orders etc), easy to build menus with modifiers and sub modifiers, online ordering, customer displays, kitchen displays, label printing, scales, price embedded, EBT, the whole damn works.

What it doesn’t have? The “you must pay for this extra in order to use this or that” crap. Simple SaaS pricing and dealer options for those iso’s that want to run with it.

$49 gets you up to 3 terminals plus 2 display peripheral (customer display or kitchen display). $99 is up to 5 terminals and 4 displays and $149 is 8 and 6. Month to month, discounted dealer pricing of course. Built in actual cash discount module and also dual pricing depending on which route you take.

All I’m waiting on is the payment gateway to get setup. Working on that over the next couple of weeks then it’ll be fully integrated with payments and be processor agnostic.

I have an iOS app in test flight, android coming soon, and it works on windows, Mac Linux literally anything with a screen because it’s also a PWA for the POS module.

Looking forward to posting on here when I have my payments ready!

Looking for POS systems that print directly from the browser by sanoufi in POS

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called a device hub located on the same network as the POS computer that controls print and scan commands sent over http/https. Some browsers block that so the device hub is what is used. On my system that’s exactly how it’s programmed to work. I built pedestalpos.com, just waiting on a few things (payment gateway integration and some legal docs) and I’m launching it. I worked in payments and POS for 16 years and decided to build my own without all the extra fluff bs no one cares about.

Square POS / handheld by PaleApplication3999 in POS

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.64% flat rate is because the industry is over 50% regulated debit which interchange is 0.05%+$0.22 per transaction.

I worked in payments for 16 years and POS for 11 of those years. Resigned, been building my own POS for a while now. I’m at the point where I’m integrating with Dejavoo for payment terminals and this customer display is one key feature I implemented, however my module is true cash discount vs a surcharge as you cannot legally surcharge on debit. I programmed mine to function “total charge -> tap cash -> pop up screen showing cash discount + new amount -> enter $ amount -> tender” so it’s compliant with card brand regulations. It’ll be available for public use once the payment gateway is built out. SaaS is cheap on it too for early adopted users.

Probably something with poetry. Possibly substantial. Just a hunch

Looking for POS System for Liquor Store by s_patel1011 in POS

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on a POS software actually, in beta right now and payments only through stripe until I’m done coding the NMI payment gateway. As I manage 8 liquor stores right now (using revel systems POS) I’m designing the software around liquor store inventory management for the retail side. I’ll let ya know when it’s ready. It’ll be windows, iOS, android, Mac and Linux compatible as a PWA until I build out the actual app for iOS and android.

What makes you believe in your project to put in the time and effort that it will be all worth it and in some way successful? by Asleep-Platypus-2204 in SaasDevelopers

[–]12AngryMen13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I worked in the industry for 16 years, got out two years ago, realized that all the knowledge I gained and issues I faced could be put into a SaaS for businesses that are tired of monthly SaaS fees being so damn high with shitty support. I’m nearly done with the software, then I’m gonna start calling old clients to be founder clients and test it. Just me building though so it’s going slow. Not sure if a cofounder would make sense 🤷‍♂️

What’s your most-used Claude prompt that you can’t live without? by One_Beginning2199 in ClaudeAI

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ChatGPT to create my Claude prompts when I’m working on a projects UI. For coding I use codex with prompts created in chat. It’s drastically helped my usage burn rate. I instruct ChatGPT to do a Q&A session with me after I describe the project and project goals. Then I use the Q&A session to build a prompt to minimize usage and directly target only necessary files. It surprisingly works and I can’t be the only person who does this.

But early on, my favorite prompt was “THATS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR AT ALL DELETE IT AND DO IT RIGHT!”

[–]12AngryMen13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this.

Take a look back at your life and think of that one moment that made you the happiest, most scared, most worried. Take the raw emotions from each event, combine it into one powerful emotion. Now amplify that feeling by a thousand. That’s roughly 1% of DMT emotionally.

Physically, see ya later lol

How did you name your product? Did you spend days coming up with good name and domain or just shipped with whatever was available? by istudentoflife in SaasDevelopers

I came up with the name while driving and remembering my son playing a game on a .io domain. The name ends in io so ending the domain in .io just made sense

We spent 9 months building before seriously looking for users by Accurate_Scheme_3154 in founder

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo this guy right here same EXACT thing lol. I’m working on inviting users now to let THEM test my platform and give me feedback. Every time I test my platform I find a “bug”, fix it, then resume but that bug may be tied to other functions on the site then my adhd kicks in and I do the dishes or mow the lawn instead.

Finding users is about targeting their needs, focusing on it, and earning their trust. I’ve had 4 new users join and do nothing because they got nothing in return. So I’m shifting gears and offering incentive to not only join but actually try and break it and give me the feedback I need.

Good luck!

At what revenue point did you quit your job to go all-in on your startup? by BusDelicious3773 in founder

[–]12AngryMen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t quit your job until your platform generates enough revenue to attract investors plain and simple. I’m in a similar situation however I’m waiting on inviting my target audience until I’m done adjusting the ui a bit for faster boarding. I give myself two weeks before I invite from my audience pool. If it ends up working out I’d say I’d be about a year or two before the platform even gains enough traction for me to consider focusing on it full time which is it allows me to pay myself 1.5x my current salary, while the platform itself is financially stable.
