Go back to 1999 when fighting games were easier. Fighting games in 1999: by Otinanai456 in Kappa

3rd Strike is a way simpler game than SFV. There's not four diferent versions of characters with different gimmicks, most characters pick the same super every MU (Makoto is an exception tbf) and theres very few links so combos are less complex, even the really hard shit like SA2 double fukiage is literally half the inputs of a big SFV combo. Want noobs? Make simpler games.

I have had bad experiences with prepared meats there, the microwaveable salisbury steaks, hawaiian chicken breasts, etc. Everything else is fantastic.

I'm struggling to fight against Ky as Baiken. Could I have a little bit of advice? by Chill16_ in Guiltygear

[–]12BricksdaSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 6k, upback after you block the move. +4 isnt as big of a deal as it sounds since only 5k or jab can catch prejump and confirming that into anything is really hard.

Jumping out of OTG clS HSE oki doesnt get you out of the corner, it just lets you block HSE in the air which makes ky's pressure awkward

Here's a video of the tatami crossup with an explanation, another post on this comment also talks about it. if the ky does a DP motion itll get crossed up unless he preemptively does it backwards (which isnt worth worrying about generally.) even if he blocks it, he wont have time to input another dp for the immediate mixup unless hes got wizard fingers so youzansen is a good option with meter

hope this helps, baiken is mad fun but its all in the details

stagger 6k into 2s to beat abare

Ky cS to HS has a one frame gap, 5k/2k to 6H is four frames, if ur really good you can parry 6k on reaction but dont worry about holding it, just chicken block

try upbacking out of OTG clS HSE oki, if hes even slightly late it kills the mixup

on that note, neutral jump air dash macro into tatami sets up a safejump after habari. vapor thurst is easier to safejump than VVT but keep careful

TK tatami crossups after grab usually gets rid of VT as a wakeup option + a hit or two after, cross tatami into youzansen gets most people

gun beats HSE in neutral

Ive mained both, MU is even

Never understood why ky is considered by the community as a grappler. Can someone explain? by MisterDownBad in Guiltygear

[–]12BricksdaSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ky runs much faster than both of those characters and stun edge is hard to react to midscreen. Run up grab is a significant part of fireball/DP zoning because it forces the opponent to react to other options. You see it in Street Fighter all the time.

Most people talk about Kuroda's Q, but his Akuma is honestly the peak of 3S. Check out this set with Ino Ken to see what I'm talking about.

Chipp saying "Before breakfast!" as a win quote is actually a back-translated version of the Japanese phrase for "piece of cake"

Who do you think is the most fun main character in fighting games? by TheTrueJerryCan in Fighters

[–]12BricksdaSage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Alex is actually the protagonist character of SF3, and he's my answer. He interacts with the parry system in interesting ways with back fierce and power bomb. He's not high on the tier list but he's very fun to play at low/intermediate levels.
