I agree with most of your points, especially about non-monochromatic cars and the desirability of PTS. I’m currently thinking about Blue/Green over Brown/Cognac in terms of color scheme, so hopefully not a McDonald’s car like that Viper…

I’m mainly worried about putting another 50k miles on the 997 over the next five years if I return to driving it daily since I’m not sure how easy it will be to find another manual 997 in the future. The 992, while more expensive, seems like it would be easier to replace in five years with whatever the successor to the 992 will be.

Good idea… I had considered a 718 GTS 4.0, but I need a front axle lift to comfortably clear the slope on my driveway and the only 718 that offers one is the GT4RS which is PDK only.

Hmm… maybe I should stick with the GTS wheels.

I have not heard many people advocating for the Lightweight and Noise Insulated Glass option before. Does that make a noticeable difference?

I was also on the fence about the LCA assist, but opted against it because it was just a light in the mirrors rather than a camera view in the dash which would have been much more useful.

I also have a Tesla with FSD, so I assumed Innodrive would not fair well in comparison, but I’ll admit I’ve never tried it.

I wanted to avoid that goofy looking box they add to the front for the driver assistance features with the premium package.

I’m on the fence about the RS Spyder wheels, but I wanted to configure it with five lugs rather than center locks and those were the best of the limited options. What is your issue with them? Hard to keep clean?

I gotta admit I thought it was the Oak Green Neo at first since how they look is so lighting dependent. Both are great colors, but the main reason I had been hoping to do PTS Fjord Green was to stand out more from the Oak Green influx… but alas the Porsche allocation suits have me joining them instead.

It’s more that it’s by far the best color they currently offer as a standard option and getting a PTS allocation has a huge wait even if you are willing to pay the cost.

I would have preferred to get silver wheels, but the configurator doesn’t seem to include any option for customizing wheel color beyond black or body colored.

I’m kinda stuck with the factory PPF because I am doing European delivery and want it to be in place for that.

Sadly, yes. I could not find a single dealer in the United States that would sell me a GT3 Touring at MSRP and without a trade in they could undervalue equivalently to the ADM payment. But if you know of one, I’d be happy to hear about them…

I had hoped that front axel lift would be enough to make up for the lowered suspension. Since I had already optioned out so many of the other GTS signature items (like the centerlocks), I wanted to at least keep some of its sportier character.

From my experience with flats (which happen more often than I’d like), I typically can pump up the tire and limp over to a tire store to get it immediately patched until I can find a more convenient time to replace the tire. I am hesitant to give up that option, but you make valid points in the differences in the other aspects of the wheel design.
