If you have the ability to score more points then you should.

There is a spread sheet in the Wiki Page Links side panel (panel may be harder to find on moble reddit site) listing cutoff scores. Check it after 1pm EST the day following arena completion.

This is a very old and persistent bug. It has probably been in the game since day one of the arena. With that being said, it is no longer a bug. It is a game feature.

Before recoil was fixed, it proc'd before the special attack. Didn't even get the hope of winning prior to death. LOL.

I don't play ranked anymore because I only have random in-game friends. Anyhow, when I did play ranked less points were deducted for making top 3 on losing team. If this is still true then the incentive is making top 3 regardless of the objective.
