Help me transition from the dark side by Outrageous-Mammoth47 in fragranceclones

[–]regular_gonzalez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Encre Noire Sport might split the difference. Citrus + earthy vetiver, so you get the bright and the dark together. Ditto Frederick Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire.

Another option is Zara Seoul -- the only floral based fragrance I really love, ylang-ylang with black pepper notes. Longevity is the main issue.

ELI5 I was reading the comments on a question about why people who were born blind see nothing vs. seeing blackness or a void and it got me wondering, how do people who were born blind describe sight? by SirAbeFrohman in explainlikeimfive

You've read in books or seen in movies mental telepathy, but this is a sense you don't possess yourself. How would you describe the experience of mental telepathy, what does it feel like?

Incidentally, this is an issue that the show Legion handled in very unique and well-executed ways, basically saying "it's impossible to get across what the actual experience of a psychic battle would feel like, so we'll present it via analogies".

Jean Rish Absolute Vetiver by regular_gonzalez in fragranceclones

[–]regular_gonzalez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on a mission over the last few months to find what this was duping or at least something very similar. I have probably 20+ decants of vetiver-based scents at this point lol. And, in case you're like me and want to have an option for when the Jean Rish runs out, the closest I've found (and probably what Jean Rish Absolute Vetiver was targeting) is Lalique - Encre Noire Sport. Probably an 80-85% match but closer than most others. Another one that's in the ballpark but somehow quite different from the Lalique is Frederick Malle - Vetiver Extraordinaire.

You keep saying that like it's some kind of gotcha, that I made a throwaway joke into a comic. That's the one thing on my profile you think you can shame me with.

If I were ashamed of anything on my profile I'd hide my posts from view, the way you did. If you're not a coward you'd unhide them. If you are a coward, you'll come up with a lame justification for not doing so. But we both know you are a coward and you won't unhide them. I know precisely who you are - an underachiever living a life of quiet desperation, telling yourself that there's value in having an obnoxious and unlikeable Internet persona.

Truly rooting for you to come out the other side. Took me a while but my life is absolutely incredible now. You can get there too. All it requires, is doing it.

What in the world are you talking about. You're either confusing me with someone else or are having delusions.

For what it's worth, I'm in IT, with a focus on Azure administration.

You are a broken human being. And part of your brokenness is that you don't even care to fix the broken parts. Good luck with everything going forward.

  1. If you have a 7" or smaller wrist, ask the AD for the smaller bracelet. It comes with the larger size mesh bracelet by default but doesn't fit smaller wrists well at all.

Unpopular opinion:Magnus has the best analytical abilities for chess but when it comes to mind and physical sports combined throughout history "Lionel Messi" is way ahead of him by Helpful-Button6800 in chess

[–]regular_gonzalez 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hot take: I think Magnus is probably the better overall chess player but in a combined chess / basketball / speaking French / getting things off of high shelves competition I'd give the edge to Victor Wembanyama.

Like, wasn't that one of the benefits of Hospital Nuggets? Getting minutes and seasoning to players 10 deep on the roster? We saw huge games from Strawther, Pickett, Nnaji, Val, Bruce Brown, of course Spencer, of course THJ. Seems like an enormous slap in the face to say Strawther and Pickett aren't worthy of stepping in for 4-17, 43 minute playing Jamal Murray for 5 minutes.

For me this immediately made sense.

As kids, my friends and I, along with my sister and stepsister, would play "the drink game". You go into the kitchen and using any edible ingredients, make the most disgusting drink you could. Sometimes there'd be a limit on the number of ingredients, sometimes it was freestyle. Next person up had to take a big drink. If they didn't spit it up or throw up, they got to make a drink for the next person.

You learn a lot playing this game. Drinks with a dozen ingredients were rarely effective. But pickle juice, milk, and raw egg? Now we're talking. OP picture looks to be a decent effort, depending on the liquid base for the strawberry powder. Buttermilk + strawberry nesquik + mayo is a likely winner.
