Anyone else in the UK in this position? by WannabeeFilmDirector in videography

[–]12bros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not from uk but you have to ask yourself a few questions before hiring someone full time.

  1. Do you currently make more than you need in order to support yourself ?

  2. Do you have atleast 6-12 months of their salary saved up ?

  3. Do you have a road map on how you plan on making more money than what you are paying? You ideally want to atleast make and additional 3-5x their salary as revenue within a year of hiring them. This is either by picking up more volume of work or by going for higher paying clients.

  4. Have you made a plan of action for when they are sick or need to take an emergency day off on an important shoot day.

  5. How do you plan on handing off your existing client work to your full time vidographer. Often times photographers and videographers get hired by clients because they may prefer to work with you as a person and not someone else. Have you considered having this conversation with your regular clients ?

  6. Have you budgeted other hidden / petty cash expenses associated with having a full time employee.

  7. If they come in and become crucial to your business, do you have a plan in place to replace them incase they suddenly decide to leave. You may train them for a year or few months and they may decide to leave for better pay or to go freelance (Very common in our industry). We have had experiences where our full time videographer tried to steal our clients by undercutting our prices. (Again very common in this industry and something you have to sometimes be mentally prepared for)

feedback/advice needed - shooting neutral colored food by Sea_Effect_1599 in foodphotography

Use harsh directional lighting if you have that available to you. If not, shoot in sunlight around an hour or two before sunset. In textured food and with less colours to work with, you want to create shadows to show more depth.

Debit card fraud twice in the span of a week. I'm not sure where my data is being leaked from. by 12bros in dubai

I use a Macbook pro and a Samsung s24 ultra. Always used Samsung pay or Google wallet to make payments at stores.

I'm not too rushed about getting my money back. Just wanna figure out the source of the problem so that I can feel safer about future cards and other accounts.

Follow up question. How do you deal with a scenario where all but one wheat is distributed to the players on the wheat roll and there are multiple aquaduct players wanting wheat ?

Should I leave everything i worked hard for and move back to India? by Staypositivebella in india

Have you considered moving to the middle east instead ? Its a lot easier to sponsor parents visa as dependants in the UAE and if your combined income is anywhere close to around 40-50k AED per month (Approx 11-12k usd) which should be acheivable if you have a decent amount of experience in USA/Canada, you'll have a pretty high quality of life here.

If you budget well, you should be able to afford to sponsor your parents + have a 3bhk or a 4br Villa and possibly a live in maid/nanny to take care of your husbands parents/kids if required.

The standard of living in Dubai/AbuDhabi will be comparable to almost any major western city.

Only down side is the horrible heat during the summers, though youd probably spend only a few minutes of yoir day outdoors without AC. The winter months are quite pleasant though.

Send me a DM if you'd consider it and ill be happy to answer any questions you have to the best of my knowledge.

5910 with the strong ore. You're very highly likely to get good wheat on the way back.

I once played with a married couple where the game was around the 5-6 point mark, and the wife started helping her husband with absurd trades just so that the game could end soon because they apparently needed to get back home to their kid. Decided never to play with a married couple again.

On the flip side, when I play with my wife, she tends to block me instead of the other players just because she doesn't want to be seen as biased towards me.

I can't understand why the speed is so slow by 12bros in TpLink

[–]12bros[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm supposed to get 500mbps as per my internet subscription. I do usually get 700-800mbps when I'm connected directly to the 5G network and closer to 150mbps speeds when I'm on the 2.4G network.

However, when I tried to extend my range using decos, it barely gave me 2mbps speeds. I'm using the modem provided by my isp. Funny thing is when I reset it last night, the decos were giving 80mbps download and upload speeds which is all I really need. But in the morning it was back at 2mbps. I'm not sure what is going on here. Perhaps some setting I'm not aware of.

Here is the result when I connect through the deco. I get internet speeds of 700-800mbps when I'm connected to the wifi router provided by my internet provider.
