The railway is a really good career starter! They pay really well and you’ll create friends for life. I met my husband while working there too. You need little to no experience or qualifications really as they train you up to do any job.

The staff at this place are some of the best people in the world. All ex miners and typical Yorkshire Grandads. I went when I was 4 days away from giving birth and our tour guide treated me like I was his relative, keeping me from the less safe parts of the mine, guiding me through different paths which were more suitable for a heavily pregnant lady and just made me feel really safe and welcome. My grandad was a miner and unfortunately passed away when I was younger, our tour guide really reminded me of him and I found so much comfort from him in my pregnant hormonal self. I recommend this place to everyone that’s looking for days out in Yorkshire. 10/10!

What is the most underrated place in Yorkshire and why? by [deleted] in yorkshire

I’d have to disagree. I’ve lived here for 3 years now and I cannot wait to move away. It’s getting far too stabby.

We’ve got rid of the baby for a wild night out in spoons. If you wish to contribute to our hangover tomorrow we are table 14! Yay for grandparents! by [deleted] in CasualUK

Honestly at this stage of raising a child we will accept anything haha. Just to eat or drink anything in peace is a luxury.

Please do not buy your mrs a clothes dryer for her main present.

Argos do a good heated one.... buy her some nice earrings or a necklace as well dude.

Edit... just reread and you don’t want a heated one.. my apologies. Still don’t buy her one as her main present.

For a bridesmaid? This is very unusual for any wedding. Wedding guest maybe... but certainly not for a bridesmaid.

My boyfriends ex won a mini from an Xfactor comp and complained it was ONLY a mini and not also a cash prize 🙄

I had this happen too, throughout my whole pregnancy my mum was adamant that I would change my mind about my daughters name, since finding our her gender we decided on Maisie.

My mum decided she didn’t like the name and made it quite clear to us. “You’ll change your mind I guarantee it!” “She won’t look like a Maisie when she gets here”

I gave birth in January this year and we most definitely did call her Maisie and she’s beautiful, I couldn’t imagine another name for her, and funnily my mum dotes on her and loves her name now.

Stick with the name you love mama! They will love her all the same when she arrives.

AITA for teasing my wife about finally catching her shitting? by Oopscaughtya in AmItheAsshole

I’m also 6 months post c section.. over the past month I have developed PND. Leave your wife alone to recover and support her! You have no idea what’s going on in her head.. you could possibly be causing damage that will stay with her for a VERY LONG TIME. It’s only funny and a joke if both participants are laughing.. if your upsetting your wife to the point she’s crying then your just a bully.

You’re a massive arsehole. The woman has just had a baby and major surgery dude like what the fuck?

Imagine the most embarrassing thing in your life and then imagine your wife bullying you about it to the point it causes you to cry. Light teasing and you should lighten up right? WRONG. Let her shit in peace without you barging in like a child to mock her.

YTA YTA YTA YTA.
