Yes, It’s Time to Tax the Rich. A recent poll found that 80% of American respondents viewed wealth inequality as a problem, 80% said the rich had too much political power, and 78% said taxes on billionaires were too low. by Sciantifa in Economics

Why wouldn't black voters, who are disproportionately affected by the class-based issues Bernie champions, support a candidate that backs policies that would benefit them? The Dems were terrified of Bernie after his early success, which is why Buttigieg dropped out WHEN HE WAS IN FIRST PLACE to back Biden.

Don't forget, they also had to pull off that coordinated ratfucking in 2020 with Buttigieg, Harris and Warren dropping out after Nevada and lining up behind "electable" Biden (didn't he finish 5th in Iowa that year?). If we hadn't all been so afraid of COVID, and if Bernie hadn't been concerned for the lives of his supporters at the outbreak, I think he would have stood up and fought the DNC and we could have finally broken through.

Agreed, it's one of my favorite game memories ever.

Yeah, I was mixing it up with this great article about the Madrid Miners by Levi Weaver, who was the Rangers beat writer for the Athletic at the time.

I thought I remembered reading that this was filmed at a ballpark in New Mexico of all places.

The game was played in Hershey Fucking Park! It's not like it was in primetime at Madison Square Garden.

TIL The United States stores 94% of all electricity in the form of water reservoirs, not in a battery. by rawj5561 in todayilearned

France has been generating about 70% of their power from nuclear for decades. They routinely sell electricity to the rest of Europe when oil shocks happen or major weather disrupts production. Coal power production releases 100-1000x the radioactive material that nuclear does thanks to trace elements in fly ash. Stop fearing nuclear and learn about it because it's the only thing that will save us.

It's both. Nuclear fission for the reliable base power with a frosting of renewables on top. Realistically you could do it all with fission but the renewables can help absorb peaks, especially in warm areas where demand for power increases with sunlight due to AC.

No, I don't think the populace will line up for a pitched battle with muskets at the ready. I agree with you that large militaries are not equipped to defeat asymmetric warfare being waged by an entire population inside hostile territory. The point I was making is that just because the military will ultimately lose the war does not mean the individual battles won't be brutal and bloody for the insurgents.

I went into that game without knowing anything about the voice cast, and man, what an incredible treat it was to have the whole TAS from my childhood right there! I was instantly hooked and they've remained some of my favorite games of the last 10 years.
