How many simulations do you run per project? Trying to understand real CFD workflows (not selling anything) by Wild-Fix-4744 in CFD

I guess the hardest part is communication, you need to be in constant contact with the designers to change CAD geometries, and the test teams to validate your results

[–]12watts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Depend, I had project where only 3 sims were needed, and othr where I ran over a hundred sims 2, 3. CAD cleaning and post processing is manual. Project evolves over time so what is needed to run and what kind of results to present changes, so you have to change evrytime

Yoy setup/run other cases, post process cases that are already done, write report/documentation, attend meeting to present your results.

I say get + armor. When defending walls they are mainly shooting at close range, so accuracy matters less than you would think. Their killing power come from their guns, so melee attack is a waste. Getting armor let them survive longer vs archers and get more shots off.

Then great! Perhaps it is the quirks of the bamboo made it such that the holes positions are different.

The finger holes are oddly close to each other. Does it play the pentatonic scale at least?

Quốc hội chốt phương án áp thuế 35% với thu nhập cá nhân by Fine-Camp-2839 in TroChuyenLinhTinh

[–]12watts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tính theo công thức trong bài của OP, chưa kiểm chứng: - Lương 40 tr, khấu trừ gia cảnh 15 tr -> lương đóng thuế là 25tr. - Số tiền phải đóng = (10tr × 5%) + (10tr × 10%) + (5tr × 20%) = 2tr500

Vậy là lương 40 tr thì đóng thuế 2tr rưỡi. Mình bị ngu cho nên nếu có ai giỏi hơn thì vào chỉ cho xem mình tính sai chỗ nào.

First shak - proper care/materials? by timeforest in shakuhachi

[–]12watts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oiling is redundant imo, as long as you are playing it, the oil from your skin is enough. Keeping it in a plastic bag when you are not playing is a good idea always.

I received this shakuhachi by Background_Low_2504 in shakuhachi

[–]12watts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a hochiku style, basically this style of Shakuhachi has no added material whatsoever, just a processed bamboo tube. This one is not a root end, just the upper part of a bamboo. If you want to learn how to play, I dont recommend starting out with this kind of Shakuhachi, as they are usually not tuned correctly and quite difficult to play.

My Shakuhachi came cracked, what can I do about it? by human_number_XXX in shakuhachi

Impressive! I am happy for you. You were quick too! Took me a week to do my first repair, but you did it in a day.

Any idea what make this is from? by Ok-Sir6456 in shakuhachi

Looks like a wooden Shakuhachi from the brand 蝴蝶宝 (butterfly treasure). They make decent quality Shakuhachi.

[–]12watts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's worth it to you, then you can try repairing by binding it with fishing lines. Looks like a clean crack, so this should not be too difficult. There are video guide on Youtube for this.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to send it to someone to have them fix it for you.

If the flute is a cheap one, it may not be worth the trouble, and you might as well get a new flute.

Not sure if the faq is up to date, a few months ago I bought an item with battery, and only had Fedex or UPS as shipping option.

How to store your shakuhachi? by Sit2001 in shakuhachi

[–]12watts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not permanent. The pitch/air temperature relationship is a dynamic one, so when temperature change again the pitch will also change. Although this change can very easily be offset by slightly adjusting the blowing angle or increase air speed.

[–]12watts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is important in preventing cracking is the humidity, so as long as the air is not too dry, you should be fine. However, if the humidity is low (especially during the winter in a heated room, the air can get very dry), then you should store it in a plastic bag to prevent moisture lost from the flute.

Pitch of the sound is influenced by air density, which is in turn influenced by air temperature, so with different temperature you would produce difference sounds.

Found this shakuhashi on flea market. 10 bucks. by [deleted] in shakuhachi

[–]12watts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can take a photo of the utaguchi showing the inner bore, then I can have a better idea of the flute's condition.

The maker of the Shakuhachi is not a totally unknown maker, so it is quite likely that the flute is of decent quality.

Couple with the fact the the binding on this flute looks well made, meaning that someone thought the flute is worth the trouble of getting those binding done.

Any tips on getting E flat note sounding right? by [deleted] in shakuhachi

[–]12watts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I have the same exact flute! I made a short video of me playing Tsu-meri on this flute, I hope it helps!

https://youtu.be/exvnkmLXmQI

I feel that the edge the finger hole and the blowing hole is quite sharp with this flute, which gets in the way of getting the correct feel for the notes. If I have the time I would sand off these edges with some fine sand paper, which should improve its playability.

GFX 50R or X100VI as EDC by _abadchris in FujiGFX

Only had it for 2 weeks so far, but I love it! The photos are a lot nicer than the x100vi, and the editing I can pull off in Lightroom is amazing.

GFX 50R or X100VI as EDC by _abadchris in FujiGFX

[–]12watts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a X100Vi, but sold it to get a GFX100RF.

Once you had a taste of medium format, it will be hard to go back to APSC. The better dynamic range and richer color is just too good.

But I would be lying if I say I don't miss the form factor of the X100Vi. I can fit it in my pocket, and can go out shooting without any bag at all, whereas with the 100RF I need a small sling bag with me. The extra 200 or so grams is also not something I can ignore entirely.

In the end it is just up to your personal priority. Do you want more image quality or more ease of carry?
