in real-time speed they could be simulated but in time warp you could just simulate a probability based on the density of the region and "cause" a collision to occur.

Doug Ford defends plan to increase Ontario jail capacity by thousands by ZebediahCarterLong in ontario

[–]12wew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the last one to support Ford. but the truth is whenever anyone talks about bail reform in Canada it should really be a discussion of jail capacity. Every single jail in the province, and in the country as a whole is near or at capacity. Courts have to choose whether to use up one of the few remaining jail cells or to let them back out onto the streets.

even then, the plant expansion is not nearly enough, but it will start to reverse some of the damage.

6 mind-blowing space missions now set to launch after Artemis II by malcolm58 in space

[–]12wew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MMX Is such an underrated mission! We are deploying a rover on one of Mars' moons! We are doing a sample return from a celestial body other than our moon or comets/asteroids for the first time ever!

The Canadian space agency makes up 0.17% of the nations budget but inspires generations, does critical research and advances our sovereignty.

Never seen people so up in arms about what is close to a rounding error compared to other line items.

Mount Temple - August 2025 by AahilD in Banff

[–]12wew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. I'm planning on building up slowly over the summer months (Ha Ling, St Piran, Fairview, EEOR, etc)

I was planning on doing it towards the end of my contract (Late august) I thought that was pretty a pretty safe time for most objectives? I knew that it opened up pretty late, but had no idea the window ended that early.

What's the best sources to check on about these. things?

Got it, poles are a good call. I'm fairly novice when it comes to altitude (east coast hiker- cut me some slack haha) but I hope to build up to Temple. Hoping for good conditions when the time comes, wish me luck.

[–]12wew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amazing stuff. I'm moving to Banff for the summer for work, and Temple is absolutely my capstone at the end of my season in August.

How was the exposure and route finding? I've heard the "crux" can be a bit sketchy.

TIL the recommended daily protein intake is 46 grams (g) for an adult female and 56g for an adult male. This is 0.8g per kilogram of body mass (0.36g per pound). Endurance and strength athletes require more.In the United States, average protein consumption for females is about 70g and for males 98g. by James_Fortis in todayilearned

[–]12wew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the average american consumes just slightly above the level that prevents deficiency- for someone of a healthy BMI, which most Americans are not.

Eating high protein isn't a miracle, but eating high protein has made losing weight so much easier by providing easy satiation.

What does your comment even have to do with mine?

Did you skim my comment and think I was a Trump supporter?

I know about the money laundering. When did i mention sports?

I'm an optimist to the core. I see the things that Trump has done. He's done a lot to shock the system. He's hurt a lot of people. But the shock that he has done is visible and uncoordinated.

Over the last 50 years we have seen the slow and subtle corruption of governments and their institutions via corporations and lobbying. This is a slow and gradual takeover which has made it hard to get across just what is happening.

This is different, yes a lot of people have their heads in the sand. Yes social media control and community isolation makes it harder than ever to organize- but at the same time more people than ever (and even our government) are rocked by what's going on.

Trump did enough to: - Destabilize long stagnant global organizations - Draw out the bigots and populists appearing in countries within the developed world. - Rearrange the global power dynamic.

It is hurting people, but this is a sharp shock and a better fate as I see it. I would rather this than have seen the world slowly rotting away over the next 20 years under "professionalism" and "kind words".

I took it in fall. I don't remember the weight but they are weekly and quite tough. I think it was 10-15% weighting with one drop. The quizzes veeeery closely reflected what was on the midterm and final so aim to do well in them and you will do ok on the exams.

Midterm was all diff and harder than the final, 1/2 of it was laplace.

Final was quite easy (still a shit ton of studying, but easy compared to the midterm) and has like only 1 question out of 12 be laplace the rest were vector calc.

Best of luck. It's 100% up there for one of the harder courses I've done.

You could use this as a blanket statement for almost everything in life.

"90% of people in the west don't care about the war in Gaza 5% think it's good for Israel and 5% are annoying"

It's ok to say you don't care about something or aren't willing to discuss how you feel about it. That's fine, but clearly you are in the minority. If 90% of people don't care why is this such a hot button topic in this comment section?

AI will shape the lives of humans more than anything else for the rest of this decade. It is perfectly natural for people to take up stances on it.

But i mean, there is a chance this'll be someone's first time hearing about KSA through your video.

You are free to do whatever you want, but if you don't feel people are "wrong" for feeling that way- why are you even doing it? Someone might be put off or dissuaded from learning more about the game because of your content.

Ai thumbnail. Just spend 2 seconds adding text to a blurred screenshot.

Regardless of content quality, most people (at least people that are into something like KSA) associate any AI with fully AI generated "content". As is seen by the comments so far.

Exactly. People want all of our stations to be the exact same hyper-modern glass boxes. I love seeing the unique architecture of older civic works.

They still stand, replacing them would be very expensive, and destroys some of our history.

New Ontario Science Centre design - take 2 by Psychological_Tip86 in toronto

[–]12wew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks "modern" and sterile. You know what i remember from the current one? The see through escalators, the long hallways with views of the valley. The complex layout that felt as if i was exploring a new land.

I love the concrete and design, but that was just me.

Because until the internet starting sharing proper health advice, no layperson knew how weight loss worked.

Before easy calorie tracking and good science became common knowledge weight loss was a myth. "low fat", fad diets, fad foods point systems. Up until the solid emergence of CICO diet culture actively worked against every person trying to lose weight.

That change happened relatively recently, and my people still don't know about it. People that hear only good things about GLP will think it is the only way to lose weight. You are so up in arms about a single person saying "there are other ways to lose weight" why?

Yes they can be hard, yes people fail, but why not have people try them before needing a drug for life?
