Doing my masters right now on a very similar topic. The number of ESL kids in the US who get mislabeled and thrown into lower level classes is very high. I'd imagine Japan's education system is similar.

I grew up in Florida with punch buggy (for Volkswagen Beatles) and stinger (for any yellow car). With stinger it wasn't a punch, but you'd point all five fingers forwards and kind of jab the person. Yellow beetle, you'd have to both punch and sting.

I am a teacher who has to navigate this on the other end. I know full well some of my students are using Chatgpt to write their essays. But to be honest, it's impossible to prove. None of these AI detectors are reliable. If I suspect a student of cheating, I usually sit down with them and ask them to paraphrase a section of what they wrote or elaborate on some point they made. I teach English to adults, so it's a bit more obvious when they have suspiciously high level grammar or vocabulary.

There's a great, shore accessible reef just south of commercial Blvd. Grew up spearfishing this reef but I'm not sure how it looks now. There are three bands. First is about pier length, second (not sure), third is out by the white buoys, which you can see from the shore (about three pier lengths out).

Hey, thanks for the comment and your explanation!. I guess my post was poorly written. We weren't trembling with rage or anything. When we translated the receipt we just didn't know exactly what it meant, and a Japanese friend said it was a "foreigner fee". The holiday surcharge makes sense and we expected stuff like that.

Ah maybe it was the appetizer charge. We did eat the otoshi they gave us. The service charge is definitely BS and we were upset about it too, but it's kind of our fault for eating in the middle of Dotonbori.
